or atleast when seats are left its should opened for 2nd and 3rd list and all back doors entries should be stoppedparent should easily enquire abuot there point give  or they forms should be returned back so that we can go for legal advice if points not justified or send to government departments for final verifications

Correctly said that the now the childrens of Delhi, especially, are born with their pre decided destiny basis the schooling of their parents or siblings. The laws of Govt. of India and nature are totally kept at stake and now forced to rethink if, "all the kids are born free and have the right to education?" - we so called the liberal people with blocked minds. I have only one quesion to ask - is the right of education to the future of nation is being pre-decided before the birth of the kid. TO me its a shame to think on these illogical paternes continued and modified in the interest of few. ANYHOW, SOMEONE RAISED IT EVEN THOUGH AFTER THE COMLETION OF THE ENTIRE GAME - MAY GOD BLESS US. AS WE MIGHT NOT BE ABLE TO FACE OUR FUTURE GENERATION WHEN THEY ASK US A SIMPLE QUESTION - DAD & MOM WHAT WAS MY (KID) FAULT IF YOU WERE NOT PASSED OUT OF THE PARTICULAR SCHOOL? MAY GOD FIRGIVE US FOR WHAT WE ARE INTO AND PROUDLY CONTINUNING.
I think Banyan tree school should also be put in this criteria..they arbitrarily changed the points to only three criteria: girl chil 15, special needs-5, alumni-20..no guesses than that who will be selected only alumni and the results prove this..see the discussion thread about this matter
100 % true...we r helpless..
This point system is baseless its only encourages a wrong trend. Why only in metropolis this point system is so much emphasised? . In other cities the interaction with child is a major criteria. Its true that we can't judge a 3+ child but atleast we can differentiate whether a child is ready for nursuery or not. The sibling and alumani criteria should be completely removed. Distance, child's interaction, parent's interaction should be major criteria. Then only the admission process could be transparent.

This entire point system is discriminatory. Here are few categories which are not in line with the principle of fairness:

1. Alumni : When other parent's education and profession are not being considered, then what is the point of alumni? It can be understood if schools are into initial stage and they need lots active of alumni support to establish themselves. But getting these alumni points merely on the basis of passing from that or other related schools seems to be invalid criteria.

2. Transferable Jobs: First of all it assumes that parent has a job. Second if the intent was to help parents settle down when they get transferred so that their children education is not impacted. However such cases will arise in middle of a session OR for some intermediate classes. What is the validity of this criteria for nursery classes that too at the start of the session? How is transferable job creating problems here? These parents are definitely not at disadvantaged position based on their nature of the jobs - then why such special consideration?

3. Girl Child: What is the logic for this? Specially when we strive to seek 50-50 ratio in schools. This certainly would have been a valid booster in some remote places where parents are hesitant to send their girl child to schools. But not in Delhi! See the result of many schools which followed this and a very high percentage selected were girls. That, if followed for few years, can potentially change the character of those schools completely.

4. National award winner/athlete: If this criteria applies to child then it makes sense (rare for nursery admissions), but if on parents, then we are talking about parent's qualification and profession only but words chosen are more sympathetic.

5. Serving Army personnel: This is again a profession - isn't it? If it was only restricted to children of martyrs then it makes sense.

Last but not least, Management Quota: Are not we profiling again based on parent's paying capability. Businessmen or people with good cash flows/reserve are the one who will qualify here. So we have removed educational profiling of parents but not financial profiling.

From my personal point of view only two cases makes sense: Child with special needs (where schools need to make special arrangements) and sibling cases (from practical problem perspective)

FYI: I don't fall in any of these two cases.

If situation continues like this only, I think, we soon will have to resort to single common application form for nursery admissions as well and lottery happening for each school admissions at a centralized place.

I strongly agree with Manoj...

I want to add some  thing

as per my opinion two criteri ashuld be there Neighbourhood n sibling (practicallyproblem perspective)

as per DOE nurserystudents shoud be from immidiate neighbourhood

but school are considering 12 km is neighbourhood and giving same marks..(summerfield and many )

only one school i found doing good job i.e frank anthony

it had made criteria like 0-1 km-12 marks,1-3 km 8 marks,3-5 km -6 marks n so on..

bur rest everschool did a mockery on the name of neighbourhood(tagore,bluebells..)

I am staying in lajpatnagar 5 school are in my radius of 2 km..still i need to send my child to saket..n same problem with other parent.malviya nagar parent is sending child to lajpat nagar..who will justify this..

GOVT,DOE or SCHOOLs

ony innocents children n therir parents will suffer,,

i s there anyone who will listen to us

i would like to say that i from motibagh got max distance point  from dps vasant kunj but 2nd rate point from dps vasant vihar whereas it is 3km from motibagh and also dps/vv has sr branch  in rkpuram sec12 which is near 1km from motibagh. whether i can ever got distance benefit  because the kid admitted on jr branch will reach sr branch one day

Mr. Manoj has very rightly explained the invalidity of most of the categories that get points. I wish this penetrates in the dumb heads of the policy makers! How we all hate them for creating this chaos. Poor kids, who do not even realize what is happening, have to go through this stupid competition at their very first step. SHAME ON THE INDIAN GOVERNMENT and the POLICY MAKERS!

Thanks a ton Sumit sir for highlighting this anomaly in media..

I strongly agree with you Manoj ji and thank you for nicely explaining the deficiencies of the current point system... agree with Bhawna ji that additionally Neighourhood should have been a strong criteria with maximum points....

(some schools like Cambridge had good criteria spread on all parameters with almost equal weightage..)..but how will a needy parents can dream for a good school like DPS/Springdales/Mother's for his/her kid if the door is closed for having no alumni/sibling tag...and how long such schools will maintain the good tag without having brilliant students from diverse heterogeneous socio economic strata into their classrooms...schools also have to rethink their strategy and not bent upon skewing to favour a chosen few than leaving excellent many..

BILKUL SAHI. EVEN AHLCON INTERNATION MAYUR VIHAR'S LIST ALSO PROOVED THAT IF A PARENT WHO IS SEEKING ADMISSION FOR HIS SINGLE OR FIRST CHILD WILL NOT GET ADMISSION. IT SHOWS THAT ALL SEATS WERE RESERVE EVEN OF GENERAL CATEGORY.. HOW SHAME IT IS. WHY DELHI GOVERNMENT IS NOT TAKING ANY ACTION AGAINST IT. I WAS ALSO APPLIED FOR MY FIRST CHILD. MY SON GOT ONLY 40 POINTS. BUT CUT OF MARKS WAS 60. AND ONLY SIBLINGS WERE CALLED FOR ADMISSION. ACTION MUST BE TAKEN.

RATISH KUMAR

agree ratish..its disgusting

it means we ppl who have first chaid and are not alumini ou child have no right to education and get admission is school.

this show corruption and failure of system. shameless pliticians
