Admission procedure for KG

Hi,

I am just confused about the admission procedure for KG. Some schools are saying that there is no form for KG. If the seats are empty, it will be notified on the website. Here, I assume that children from nursery will be moving to KG and if there is any drop-out, the seat information will be notified on the website.

On the other hand, the school in which my child is already going in Nursery, says that fresh forms needs to be filled for KG. Then the points will be calculated again this year and the list will be displayed.

Just wanted to know, is this procedure of moving from Nursery to KG, not consistent among all the schools? Will we have to go with this process every year (when the child comes to Class 1, 2, 3...)?

@Tarun.... I am facing the same dilemma. I tried to analyse the situation and this is what I could infer.
(1) Some schools actually have classes starting from KG only and not nursery but they have their “sister concern” schools working as feeder for them e.g. Lancers Convent have Lancers Start-up. Now, ideally they can not promote children from their feeder school to main school directly, DoE will not allow it, they have to follow the procedure of point system. So such schools will give you forms for KG and not nursery (if you need nursery form then go to their play school). But actually this is all eye wash, you will see major portion of the same children who were in their feeder school going to big school too, because in that pretext only schools had acquired big donations from parents last year. And about following the points system then that’s not an issue at all they know very well how to manipulate it, nobody is gonna check on them too, because Govt will say that they do not have any complaint no matter 1000 lying on their website and door step. Who is gonna check? Nobody.

(2) Those schools which have no separate feeder school are also almost full for KG because all nursery students who were admitted last year through so called “GREAT” point system will be promoted to KG. Still they will say that if vacancy arises then they will put up the notice (to sell few remaining seats).
