As you know, age criteria in Gurgaon for Nursery in most schools in 3.5 years on 1st April. I checked the age criteria for most good schools across the country and also in schools abroad. I could not find even one school that follows the 3.5 years criteria. Everyone admits the child in Nursery at 3.
The problem that I forsee is, that most good schools across the country have lower and upper limit for admissions. So for e.g in Doon school which is 7th standard onwards, they admit the child in 7th whose age is between 11 and 12. If we follow the Gurgaon Criteria for a Novermber born child, he would be 12 years 4 months when he completes 6th and enters 7th. He would not be eligible for Doon school as he wold be over age. The same problem I saw with other renowned schools. Even in US and Canada, they finish 12th before they turn 18. A November child in Gurgaon would complete 12th when he is nearly 18.5.
DPS taken 3 year old children in Nursery in Delhi but has 3.5 years for Gurgaon. Even Lotus Valley in Noida takes 3 year 3 months kids in Nursery, but in Gurgaon its 3 year 6 month.
Maybe Gurgaon is a bit special.
Can anyone tell me, is there any scientific reason behind the age criteria of Gurgaon? What will a October - March born Gurgaon kid do, if his parents are transferred to other town? He will be overage?
is that also why Admissionnursery.com folks dont have "Nursery admission in Gurgaon" category in this page as an option :-)..just kidding...
thanks
Neeraj
