I agree!

Age limit should be 4+ for nursery class

Completely agree with the two points ... Neighbourhood and first child, also keeping in mind parents with sibblings will want kids to go to same school so similar weightage to be given by schools for siblings and first born and please alumini holds no validification are we looking for family based trend sin schools too ..

The only relief is the age criteria, if they had to form the policies that onlyu benefit the schools and confuse and exploit the parents to no end, then waht was this whole facade of forming the guidelines and delaying it.. They are clearly on schools' side who are already sucking parents blood and now they will become blood hounds

Few major points to be considered:

  1. Distance
  2. First born child, equal weightage to sibling
  3. Transfer cases, equal weightage to parents born in Delhi
  4. Alumini criteria should not be there, as every parent wants their child to study in good school. May be school better than the school they studied in
  5. No screening of the child, but should consider the activites & performance report of play school
  6. Uniform criteria of points in all the schools

I second this ! Great work Mr. Ashish! Totally justified!

will the school first shortlist on point system and then go for lottery or will it be vice versa? this is not clear.

parents educational qualification must be included in point system, if schools really want to retain their results

I think there should not be much things involved, as it will overlap from one to another........and for some parents it will be OK n for some it won't.........like sibling (some have 1 or some have 2 child)...........like neighbourhood (some stays close by - but want to get their ward at some other school which is not as close as other)..........in my opinion  below should be the procedure:

- Common dates for admission - so that parents are prepare well in advance - everybody is busy nowadays with their work

- first cum first serve -  it will be easier for the parents to choose the school best for their child as well as keeping in mind the monatery level + backgroud of them..........it will avoid unnessary queues in the school + depositing forms from one to another...........(till the time school can give the form & later on they can simply say that our seats are full now)

- ofcourse age limit (3yrs) - I think

Everybody wants to give best education & get their ward to admitted at THE BEST school......it's parent who know well about their ward & themselves......

Let's keep a choice for parents & don't leave on school to make decision..........Please give your Inputs & lets make it better procedure out of every comments to be it smoother system & then we can say YES IT"S OUR COUNTRY SYSTEM...........

I totally disagree with "first cum first serve"... are we getting a train ticket in which even if I miss to be on time I can try for next train... How can a kids life and carrier be on first cum first serve?????????? I may reach a school 2 hr late to get form for some reason , how can this be a criteria to close my kids option to get admission

4+ SHOULD GET CHANCE ALSO DISTANCE SHOULD NOT MATTER AS ALL COLLONIES DONT HAVE GOOD SCHOOLS IF TRANSPORT IS PROBLEM THEY SHOULD TAKE UNDERTAKING FOR SENDING KIDS TO SCHOOL .

Why should school decide the policy? Why not Dte of Edn? Is Dte of Edn is not competent enough to formalute the procedure after listening the rational views of parent's community. KHODA PAHAD NIKLI CHUHIYA. It seems it was pre-determined decision favouring school management. Complete failure on the part of government. One can mould the things for personal benefit. We are beaten up. Anyways, my preference goes to neighbourhood, sibling & first born & special need children. No to alumni & No to single parent. followed by transfer cases (false documentation will appear). Draw of lots can be held for remaining applicants.

Hope for the best in the Principal's meetings being held with Mr. Lovely Ji.

I think criteria should be :

Sibling/First Child ( at same preference)

Neighbourhood

Parents Education/Profession
