why 25% quo for EWS???is the govt paying for it???? NO, then how fair is it to pass the buck on us???its not just enough to make a policy , but one needs to support it as well, either the govt shd pay 100% for the ews or reduce the no of seats to 10-15%, why shd we pay for the additional fee.

secondly, now again all the schools are going to have their own criteria, and 1st jan onwars parents are going to go crazy going from one school/website to the other, this shd have been knows the whole year , so we are prepared, giving us so much stress is not at all fair.

thirdly the doe has left the schools to make their own criteria excluding the parent points, but there is no one approving it, we will have to get bck to the doe in case there is a discrepancy..how fair is that???the system shd have been considered and approved by the doe before the process started so we can be saved from at least one hassle..that of having to check if there are any loopholes or discrepancies  in each school's criteria..this is maddening.31st the schools submit their criteria to doe and 1st the admissions starts..wow this attitude really shows that ours is a govt that really loves its children!!!

and what about the govt schools??no gen cat wld apply to a govt school for the admission of their child, due to the standards there, and including 25% reservation in public schools for the ews only shrinks the no of seats for the gen cat ones..why is no one talking of improving the std of the govt schools???

im highly dissatisfied and disgusted by this announcement, it is highly unfair..

In my opinion, the point system shd give importance to

1/ the age, 4+

2/ First Born

3/ distance

4/ sibling

no parent's qualification or alumni.

Agreed This will be a fair selection;

1/ the age, 4+

2/ First Born

3/ distance

4/ sibling

I believe First Born and Sibling should be one point NOT two. Since there can be no overlap first thing and secondly if they are two different points then schools can give 5 points to first child and 10 points to Sibling, again unfair for the first child.

If Both are points related and can never overlap give equal points to both.

i agree!

Pratibha, you are Perfect in your opinion.

The following things need to be mentioned in the guidelines

1) Age criterion

2) Neighbourhood

3) First child may be considered next to sibling cases

4) Alumni of same school all branches should be considered for people who are from outstation

5) The school should have right to information act in place for transparency

6) Similar point system if not idential should be followed

7) Form availability dates should be fixed for all schools (For eg : 1st january to 15 January)

8) Lottery system should NOT be followed for general public and it should not be left on school authorities to decide

Not agreed. If I am not a doctor it does not mean my child can not be doctor. Why education shd be restricted to educated parents only.

This is totally unfair. We are not at all satisfied with the guidelines. The neighbourhood crieteria should be the first and foremost creiteria in the point system admission and also include siblings but not the Alumni and single parent and the transfer cases.Howeve, some wietage can be given in case of single parent and in transfer case.

Taking the guidelines in to consideration in my case, how can I get the admission of my son, as I'm not an ALUMNI in DELHI SCHOOL Nor transferred to DELHI from other part of the country nor a single parent, He is my first chind, then no siblings. So how I will get point under these crieteria and got a bearth in nursery the admission.

Also there is a possibility of enhancement of school fees. But to came to know from the news that the increase of fees is only to meet partly the cost of the EDUCATION to be provided to EWS and these costs are to be borne by other 75% students too. WHY??????????? this 75% students from NON-EWS section will bear the cost of studies of EWS students , why not the government ?

This is also bothering the parents community of the NON-EWS child

Not at all satisfied.I have only one son. What if he has no siblings? There should be points for first child.

Age limit should be 4+ for nursery class

I feel we should not talk for 4+ since all over India it is 3+ then why should Delhi children be 1 year behind. When they will grow up this 1 year difference will make huge difference for them since after 12 they will be competing with India not Delhi
