well , its mixed guidelines for the parents like us.My son is in janak puri (play group and 3+), and i want he to get admission in Dwarkawwhich is i think less than 10km from home.Though im not the alumni nor any siblings is there in any school.i just want to confirm can i get benefited with this new guidelines and if yes than how???

Giving discretion in the hands of schools is equivalent to allowing them more of back door entries. Why can't we have a common criteria for all schools?

I second Monika thoughts ....

The guidelines have no mention of the age issue. If the minimum age is not changed from 3+ to 4+, then it would be a violation of the RTE act. Why is it so difficult for the concerned authorities to shift the age from 3+ to 4+? In my humble opinion, it should have been 5+, but parents would be happy with 4+ since 5+ did not cross the minds of our educationists.

Second, the FIRST CHILD category has been totally neglected. For my money, parents should raise their voice against this issue as well. It is so obvious that weightage should also be given to FIRST BORNS.

I completely agree with Mr Bhatnagar, the age must indeed be changed to at least 4+ and if it is in violation of the RTE Act to take children at the age of 3+ then why is the Minister so adamant about it being 3+?

I know there are many parents who are happy with the age being 3+ but frankly I think that no school is really geared towards properly handling such small children, and personally would be much more comfortable sending my children to play-school one more year then to send them into an environment where they feel neglected.

It is so obvious that the Delhi Govt. has succumbed to the pressure of the school lobby. They have been successful in pleasing the school authorities by letting them frame the guidelines according to their whims and fancies.

Mr Vohra, we parents request you to make the views of hassled parents known to the concerned departments before it is too late. Even if this issue is taken to the court, it would take several months, if not years, for the matter to be resolved. Only Mr Vohra and members of the parents associations can fight this battle. We all are there with you and our support will always be with you!!!!!

@ Bharat all the parents have to come in open and fight

hi  iwould like to give suggestion that there should be a point for first child also as they given point for siblings as they giving perfences to second cild that both parents and sibling are easy to convey in same chools but what about the other parents who are trying for addmissions for first child in good schools  and neighbourhood schools so that for small children donot have to travel long distance from their home

nottttttttttt sssssaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaatttttttttttttissssssssssssssssssssssssfiiiieeeeeeeeeeddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddd

Hi Sumit Sir, I am from South India and I got a job in Delhi. Neither myself or my wife studied in any school or colleges in North India or Delhi. In this case I am worried hot got get admission for my Son when considering point system.

i dont think that neighborhood criterion should be consisdered. what if the school u choose does nt fall under given radii. all good schools happen to be in south delhi.secondly parents qualification should be considered

Isn't alumini points also profiling based on parents education.. clearly against RTE directions?

Why should the first borns get less points than children having elder siblings??? is the government punishing people who want to contain the country's population?

Agreed, if any family has two children they should be in the same school... but why should the parents of first born children not rewarded points as well.

All hue and cry.. so much energy and time lost but these directions are one step forward and two steps back.... increasing management quota allowing lottery within points.... school lobbyists have won hands down... get ready to give large donations.....
