WHICH ONE CATEGORY SHOULD BE REMOVED THAT IS ACCEPTABLE TO EVERYONE ?

Remove both to provide level playing field to all parents. I have a SON and hence cannot apply in my wife school (girls only) and my school takes children above 4yrs. Hence I'm left with no Alumni points and being the first child cannot have a sibling! In most of the schools 50 points just cannot be attained and hence left out. Especially all DPS branches!

I heard that many parents are showing fake documents for transferrable job to get points.....if after 2-3 yr the parent not got transferred then his admission got cancelled???...or how the school ppl are making justification with their this criteria...??? i find whole this point system an absurd process....they can turn up a simple middle class salaried person into crazzy...first stand in a long queue to submit form and that too 9-12 so that ppl reach office after lunch everyday....and now the dox verification..then go to c alist...then go for draw...its totally a MAD RACE...

Ritu: Have patience. You may not get into the so called "top" schools in your locality. Don't get swayed by popular beliefs. There are quite a few new schools that follow alternate teaching methodology  Hope you've applied in those as well. Chances of getting through are more in the newer schools!

Anand : We have applied atleast 16 schools and out of which we are out in 2 schools i.e maxfort and DPS. DPS case u are aware and maxfort asked for some money which was non refundable and we refused for the same. And i know it very well due to that reason only we were not shortlisted in maxfort. lets hope for best in other schools now.

@Ritu: The "top" schools definitely do not ask for money. Among the remaining it has been my experience over the previous years that any school that has "upgraded its infrastructure" - meaning A/C facilities ask for donations. There are very few exceptions to this case. It has also been my observation that the principal and faculty in general keep a distance from such happenings - though they're "aware" of it! Guilty by association though! So don't discount a school because they're asking for donations .. in the sense it doesn't reflect the environment/ faculty in the school! This is more a corrupt Management at work

Anand: thankd for the update. I am bit confused about the schools now. My daughter has been selected in DIS and JM international and i m very keen for her in Bal bharti, VIS and Nirmal bharti out of which nirmal bharti is out now. So i m left over in Vis and Bal Bharti. Can u please suggest me which is better as i m really very confused and tensed now. I m waiting for results of bal bharti and vis now. Plz suggest me which school is better now DIS, JM or sachdeva.

@Ritu: If you're sure of making it to Bal Bharti - nothing like it! DIS and JM are relatively new schools. Sachdeva has been around for some time. VIS has a brand name and quite sought after by parents. I would say VIS would get preference over DIS, JM and Sachdeva. Please visit the schools .. it really helps clear a lot of confusion

Anand : Now the court has given stay order for admission of nursery classes. I think its fair enough to do so as we will get time for other school results and we can finally decide where to get our childs adission finally as most of the schools refused to give refund if we get our kid admission in any other schools. What say????
