hi mam,

thanks & a very happy new year to you too.

pls note that all school are having specific documents required and some ask for attestation from a gazetted officer so make sure you have the same with you.

make a nos of copies of your docs as per nos of school you intend to apply for.

regarding applying for these named schools pls calculate your weightage points in advance and apply accordingly.

also opt for relatively lesser known but good/above average schools in your vicinity Def col & Lajpat nager areas too to maximise your chances.

wish u all the best.

regards,

Bij:)

I have a few queries:

1. Do we need to provide a certificate if own a business/company?

2. What about those who are working as a free lancers, and do not come in service/business category? What kind of proof would they be showing? For example, people like freelance journalists, writers or event organizers?

Hi Dr. Bharadwaj..

schools can not discriminate on basis of occupation/designation & educational qualifications of parents as per RTE/DOE guidelines this year...

however if you have to mention your  occupation in the Registration Form then you can clearly explain the kind in details (in a hand written form) ..and can select suitable choice from the drop down menu (in case of online filling e.g. in DPS) against business/journalist or "others" as required..

no proof regarding this can be asked by the school other than the undertaking by the parents (that is in the form itself by signing it off)..if the school insists for it then pls check with that specfic school accordingly..

Delhi Schools v/s NOIDA Schools

Dear Mr. Bij,

Could you please throw light on if studying in NOIDA schools has any disadvantages over studying in Delhi schools?

One point to note in this regards is -- Colleges under I.P. University in Delhi, Delhi College of Engineering (DCE) and other colleges reserve 85% of seats for Delhi students.

Many thanks,

Sanjeev

Column "Areas of Parental Contribution " in DPS Mathura Road form

Dear Mr. Bij,

The last column in the nursery form of DPS Mathura Road School is named as "Areas of Parental Contribution". Could you please elaborate what this exactly means

Many thanks,

Sanjeev

Hi sanjeev ji,

i've no clue for this except it can be related on achievement of parents/contribution towards any thing peculiar in social development..

Hi Sanjeev ji,
this point is very valid not only for Noida but all other cities in the NCR..
University of Delhi and State Technical Institutions like -IP University, Delhi College of Engineering etc..have their 85% seats reserved for students who pass XII exam through any school in the National Capital Territory (Delhi NCT)...
nothing can be done for this as this is a state prereogative..in similar sense Uttar Pradesh Technical University (UPTU) Exams, CETs of Maharashtra, Karnataka, etc..keep maximum reservation for the students who pass qualifying exams (12th std.) from their respective boards/colleges in their territories..
Point here can be---Are there good quality schools in Noida, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Ghaziabad? Yes they do exist..very good schools some of them are comparable to their elite peers of Delhi are situated in these NCR cities...so quality of education is definitely comparable and somewhere better too..
Higher education: students have their different choices after 12th std..and when they pass through any Pan India test like AIEEE, CBSE PMT, IIT JEE..they are most of the time out of regional quota level (to some extent that exist there too but less as in AIEEE) and get the best of institutions of their choice..
Delhi University: definitely the best university in India...so some NCR students (if they are not having excellent marks in 12th exam) may miss ivy league colleges here for their choice of streams as SRCC, Venky, Lady Sriram, St. Stephens, Hindu etc...but then that has to happen anywhere too..

Thank you Mr. Bij for your kind reply.

Regards,

Sanjeev
