Dear Bij Ji,
I was going through this post from last year and would like to mentiuon here that I'm a Single Parent (Mother) as well. I'm applying for my Son's Nursery admission this year in various schools in Noida. I tried applying in few schools last year like Apeejay and Amity but my son was not selected. He cleared the intial interaction round in Apeejay but in the final round we were disappointed by the Principal coz of my being a Single parent. So this year I'm quite apprehensive and stressed out. Could you pls guide as in what sort of affidavit (Language) should I produce as a document to validate the fact that I'm a single mother and at which sgtage should produce it since I have already submitted forms in majority of the schools. Also are schools like DPS, Sommerville and Cambridge Noida giving any preference to Single Parents?
Thanks and Best Regards
Hi Yamini ji,
Noida schools do not follow a point/weightage criteria whereby they can give preference to a specific category viz. single parent.
The good part is that this year you have many choices of schools and at time of interaction with the principal/teachers you can stress your status very confidently so that they can be convinced with your view point as many of these schools like DPSN, Sommerville, Cambridge are having good underlying values and they will surely consider this...even i think they may prefer it.
In case you have to submit a documentary proof ( which i don't think they ask at time of registration but later can be given) you can read this attachment from DPS Vasant Kunj and the Affidavit/Undertaking format given herewith can be modified to your use..
Pls be positive and give your best shot.. think sure that your kid is the best and more mature now..he/she will surely excel this time..
All the best!
Bij:)
Dear Bij ji,
Many thanks for your prompt reply. This is indeed very helpful and encouraging. I shall most certainly get the affidavit done as suggested.
Best Regards
Yamini
Dear Divya

dear sir,
its school's prereogative to ask for rent agreement/lease deed as the proof of residene in Delhi, ..it is not considered as an authentic document...very few schools accept it..main address proof documents asked for are the ones as mentioned by you (Passport, Electricity bill, MTNL landline bill, Election Voter ID card, House tax receipt)..
dear sir,
the date of birth certificate of my son does not have name of him on it.
can attested copies of the same are acceptable for Date of Birth proof.
I not then advise.
also some schools are asking for original birth certificates to e submitted with admission forms.
kindly guide
Sir,
..i think attestation should work mostly..but some school insist for having child's name printed on the birth certificate..so you check beforehand with the schools..and if required pls get it arranged from the MCD through the specified hospital.
schools want to confirm the admission of the child in their forte once fee is submitted by the parents, so they ask for submitting the original birth certificate..this year you can have an advantage as 1st list of most of the schools will be out on same day i.e. 1st Feb2011 (by evening)..and you shall have time period of approximate1-5 days to submit the fee, so you can safely decide on your final choice in case your child gets selected in more than one schools and deposit the required docs & fee there only..
Hi Lakshmi ji,
at time of registration only attested copies are asked for.so you pls attach attested copies of birth certificate with the admission forms. but after getting selected, schools will ask for the original birth certificate which they use to keep with them for records (schools return it back only when child leaves the school by any reason).
