Bal Bharati-Fees
Dear Parents,
Please advise, my son has got through Bal Bharati Ganga Ram, they are asking for Rs.70,000/- to be deposited as fees for two quarters. Can they ask for fees in advance??
And what if my child's name comes in the second list in some other school and I want him to be transferred, would the school refund the entire fees??

Not giving any details of the same.
Refund policy is not updated online also. They are not giving the breakup as well, just asking us to get a draft of 70,000/-.

BBPS is one of the most sought after schools in central delhi. ranking wise comes only after Springdales.
How much time have the given u to deposit the fees? 2nd list for most schools will come on 21st.
also with this amount, they are ensuring that people dont use their school to just block seats. Only the serous ones will pay and their ward will continue here.
other than that, i see no justification for asking fees for 2 quarters.

Yes, that's what it is. They have called me tomorrow for depositing the draft.
I believe the DoE circular would help us in case we ask for a refund, but the question is can they ask for this amount stating it to be a fee for two quarters, that too without giving a break up??

most schools r asking for amounts in excess of 50k. A member here whose kid got admission in GD Salwan has been asked to pay Rs 35k to confrim his seat while the fees they are stating is 50k/quarter.
never knew GD Salwan was such an expensive school.Y not send ur kid in a international school of repute instead.

As DOE wants complaints from suffering parents.
We did highlight same last year in media, Principal quoted "that if parents wish they can give one quarter fees". But the parent who had fund issues confirmed us that it was for newspaper quote only as School was asking for 2 quarter fees only even after media report in 3 papers.
One quarter fees is acceptable as general norm and charged by most of the schools.

DOE says they can keep one months fees and refund the rest.
say even 10% parents take refund after paying them ie 25 parents x 70,000 = 17,50,00 interest free money whch they can use for a month or 2 and will pay back only in May
thats some easy money!

As per calculation, it should be around Rs63000/- for 2 quarters !
You should talk to principal there, Mr. Sehgal.. I ve heard he s keen to solve partents problems.

Yes, its more than 2 quarter fee. I have already deposited the fees. Would wait for them to give receipts/breakup, in case I do not get a satisfactory response, then would approach Mr. Sehgal.

I ve been hearing that its a great school to be in.. Lets c what happens in second list.
