Nursery Admissions in Delhi NCR 2025-26

Form Dates | Admission Criteria | Results | Fee Details | List of All Schools

The school is asking parents to fill an undertaking that they won't be responsible if some tragedy happens in school premises to the child, during any curricular or co-curricular activities. Also it has been mentioned that parents can't take any legal action against the school in that case.

I would like to know, to what extent is it allowed to get such an undertaking filled?

Thanks for sharing, Sakshi.

Parents are, however, unquestionably signing and submitting such undertaking in order to get a seat in this mad race of nursery admissions.

Same is happening at Gangaram Bal Barti School. They are showing that Undertaking on their website as they are doing it right things.

  1. Declaration Cum Undertaking

And parents are doing it because schools are giving only 1 or 2 day to parents to submit the document & confirm the seats otherwise try another school of not your choice.

There is a lot of improvement requires in Delhi school admission process and government has to achieve more to make nursery admission stremline.Declaration-Cum-Undertaking.pdf

hw people can sign this... very strange.
Parents have been signing quite happily in order to secure a seat. My child was selected in this school during the draw of lots. They harassed us for the past three days over document verification. From headmistress to school teachers everyone was damn rude. We had a lot of arguments with the school authorities. Parents present at that time just acted like mute spectators. Parents themselves are ready to get harassed and contribute towards making these schools a " brand". These are the so called pseudo educational cum profitable organizations. I saw parents thanking them with folded hands for granting their child an admission in their school.
When we asked school authorities to give Everytime in writing about all the objections they had regarding our documents. They completely refused to do so. Finally, we vacated the seat and did not take admission.
This is the school which is not even ready to take responsibility for it's students, and doesn't have any regard for the parents.

Spot on.

This is laughable as i dont think this has any legal validity

True :)

Hope this is not the only school and many parents would have faced in many other schools with the same issue while seeking admission.

Schools cannot run away from their responsibilities by taking an undertaking from parents. School is a safe learning space and each staff working in the school and school management are accountable for student safety. Undertaking from parents is not a real solution instead they should look for a better school governance.

Schools should establish and maintain a risk management plan. Such a plan will prevent injury, prevent any lawsuits if found negligent. A risk management plan can be made up for checking equipment regularly, ensuring that certifications are kept up to date, maintaining order and discipline during activities, and setting up an emergency action plan so that emergency situations can be dealt with in a quick and efficient manner.

Each staff working in the school should be given training of risk management. If these simple measures are seen as routine practices, this would significantly decrease the chance of injury that may occur to a student while under school care.

Parent advisory board can be initiated to check the school governance.

Well Said.
