Yes, Mandatory at the time of  confirm admission. Very few schools ask at the time of applying.

Thx.. now in that case .. what should I do.. as I don’t have handy ... very strange policies we have in Delhi .. it’s such a pain to get ones child admitted in this city .. I have not seen such an issue and do many protocols any where else .. not even in Bombay and Bangalore... pl guide me ... thx

Your family doctor will have copy of it ..You get get copy from him .

Or contract Deputy Dir off of your area . what else school will accept.

Dear Sakshi Ma'am,

Thanks a ton for all of your replies, and helping someone in trouble for the admission of their child.

I do have my own query as my child is about to take admission in pre-nursery class in east Delhi, but unfortunately, we have a small problem, which is that the details of mine and my wife on the birth certificate of my child has our surname printed whereas on other ID proofs of ours don't have surname on them.

So what would be your suggestion as the process of revision in details on birth certificate is quite long, and the admission window is closing really soon.
