2 kids molested in I’puram schoolBoth are three-and-a-half years old; 25-year-old caretaker arrestedGHAZIABAD: Two pre-nursery students — both three-and-a-half years old — were allegedly molested by a caretaker of Mother’s Pride school in Indirapuram in the national capital region. Police arrested the school caretaker, Sher Singh, on Tuesday. About two months ago, the driver and conductor of a school bus were arrested for allegedly sexually abusing a six-year-old girl student of DPS, Vasundhara. The molestation case came to light on Tuesday, when one of the children refused to attend school. When her mother, who happens to be a teacher at the same school, enquired, she said the caretaker had molested her and a classmate during recess. The girl also told her mother that the caretaker had done this quite a few times and warned them not to mention it to anyone. Twenty-five-year-old Singh has been employed with the school for the past three years. The victim’s parents claimed to have reported the matter to the school authorities on Tuesday morning and were assured by the school authorities that immediate action would be taken. But they alleged that the school authorities did not report the matter to the police till late evening. Gorakh Nath Yadav, station in-charge of Indirapuram police station said, “We have arrested the accused and booked him for molestation. Police will investigate the role of the school authorities in the matter. Both students have been sent for the medical examination.” He added that police investigations were underway and they were questioning Singh, who would be produced in a Ghaziabad court on Wednesday |
In September, a six-year-old girl had been sexually assaulted by the driver and conductor of a reputed public school in Vasundhara. The incident had led to a huge public outcry. Due to public pressure, the school authorities had finally admitted their mistake.
An inquiry had also been ordered by the district administration into the incident. However, the girl’s parents withdrew her from the school as they were not assured of child’s safety.
“Such cases are on the rise. The administration has to ensure that all kids, especially girls, are safe in schools. There is no fear of police among criminals.
School authorities must also be held responsible for the incident,” said col (retd) TP Tyagi of the Ghaziabad RWA Federation.
Acting swiftly, senior police and administration officials have already ordered an inquiry into Tuesday’s incident to be conducted by the district’s basic education officer.
“The inquiry will bring out all facts. If found guilty, action will be taken against school officials. We will also seek an explanation as to why no female caretakers were employed for the children,” superintendent of police (SP) SS Yadav told Hindustan Times. Police sources said that the accused has admitted to his crime.
Revealing more into the incident, senior superintendent of police (SSP) Prashant Kumar said though there were reports about two girls being molested, only one girl’s parents had filed a complaint.
“If anyone has more complaints, they can freely approach the police. As of now, there is no need for the girls’ medical examination,” the SSP added.

Such incidents happening in highly reputed schools makes us think, are we really making the correct decision as parents! School authorities need to be more alert and same for us as parents. The society needs to take a united stand to reduce such incidents. It's such a shame that today when we talk about woman liberalization, we still have to face such incidents...
It not only painful but also fearsome to see these news. but these are harsh realities which must be curbed at once. As per me a few suggestion to stop such incidences may be
1. CCTV cameras may be installed at every nook & corner of campus (including bathrooms- where the kids are small like pre nursery schools) and travel accommodations. which should be continuously monitored.
2. If such incidences occur, school administration should be first to react and punish the culprit rather than defending the employee. School try to defend the accusation so that their reputation is not marred; in fact if they are first to punish their brand shall earn more reputation.
3. Capital punishment for child molesters. As it is a psychological disorder which will not let patient live a normal life and shall be a menace to society.
4. But 1-3 can be iplemented only is good quality private schools, the same should be implemented in small pvt schools as well as in govt schools.
The kids are future of our family and country, they must be protected at all cost.

Very nice suggestions Avdhesh.
I am really very sorry to say that we should not wait for another inident to happen. It's we who has to initiate to protect our child and as such we should ask the school authorities as to what steps they would be taking to prevent the such incidents in their respective schools.
me to agree with you with all three suggestions these must be applicable in all schools.
I too agree with this ,for child molesters and rapists.
Completely agree with Avdhesh....
Good suggestions Avdhesh.
CCTV surveillance footage can be helpful to pupils, parents and teachers when an incident has taken place and a record is available of what happened but it should be in working condition and switched on throughout the day.
well said Mr.Hans
For Preschoolers parents webcam facility must be thre for parents, so that they can see their child anytime anywhere in school premises. It's very helpful and keep shcool staff also very much alert. I know about KLAY Prep where my kid did his preschooling , it's a very satisfactory facility and only way to have 100 % transparency about your child's daily life at school.esp for daycare children.
School authorities has to take the responsibility till the child is in their custody including transport as well... its a very serious matter if the incidents will happen like this then no parents will feel secure while sending their children to school.. And this the 3rd incident in 3 months and that too in indrapuram.. I APPEAL FOR A STRICT ACTION against the CULPRITS AND STRICT RULES FOR PREVENTING CHILD MOLESTATION...
i fully agree, better to put your child in private tuition.. than sending to school...............
