yeah no mention of age??Does that mean tht the age remains the same as the last year????
This is not such an open ended policy. The matter was referred to the Union Ministry regarding clarification on a specific clause. They have clarified on the clause. An Act cannot go into executive details. Now it's up to the Delhi Government to issue an administrative order detailing the guidelines. My hunch is that the Delhi Government would stick to previous year's guidelines to be read in conjunction with the Ministry of HRD clarification.
Can not understand why age criteria is not given specially for other than delhi schools
Hi

I am new to this forum , please if can tell me what is the decision made by the govt about the age criteria and when are the schools form coming out
There are lots of bigger issues in which govt.is busy. So many corruption scams, how will they manage time to amend/formulate primary education policies. At max the schools may stick to last years policy and finally shortlist children as per school speciifc parameters. Age will be 3/3+ for nursery, there will be points for distance, siblings and alumini. More or less the selection will revolve around school's descretion. All the best to everybody.
Clueless .. we discussed with educationist ,even they feel things are not clear and might go in schools favour
while making these guidlines and in meeting, they should include parents representative also, so that all problems should solve
I agree with shweta mr vohra should represent parents
age limit will be either 3+ or 4+ as on sep30th 2011...i assure it wont be 4+ as on 31st march at any cost:)
so much confusion now what is going to be the basis of the random selection by the schools .distance, sibling , alumini and girl child. ???????
Schools are open to have categories based on distance, siblings, staff (but not parental qualification) anf after that categorisation students may be picked up on random basis (or the lottery system) in an open manner before all the applicants for 75% of thier seats.

This seem to be the outcome of the said guidelines
these things r clearly mentioned in the policy
1.lottery system is done only for 25% which belongs to weaker section.
2. school can decide its own criteria
a. parents education should not be under this
b. parents profession should not be considered
c. no interaction/interview either of child or parent.
d.preferance can b given to siblings or neighbourhood....
e.Admission done on random basis...
f. rest depends on school....this point is really complicated according to this policy...does it clearly mention rest depends how much money u can pay for ur child's future...??
atleast the guidelines should be clear...so that there is equal system of selection in various schools....some schools prefer almuni, sum siblings, sum give marks to girl child.....but what v do...v r not alumni, nor sibling, nor handicaped and our first child is a boy( Is it a crime) dont understand the rules nd regulations of govt.
