Can somebody explain the guidelines step by step in laymans language, i am not able to understand it...
The guideline says " Schools are free to identify any category based on ..." and 'Placed in public domain"
means that schools will decide the categories and points they want to give to each category, and they have to put these categories clearly in their prospectus.
It also says that " no profiling on the basis of parent's educational qualifications..." can be done by schools
Since the age criteria is not mentioned, that means the guideline of Supreme court as applicable last year to be followed, i.e. not less that three years for nursery. But schools can ask for 3.5 years (or even 4) and it may differ.
yes Vishal it seems that schools will follow the same age criteria as of last year 3 Plus as on 31st March 2011...
Parent stand at the same point where they started from. Neighourhood and First Child category are not mentioned at all, so i believe my child will end up with 0 zero points since Alumini, Single parent and and sibling are Zero for me
Dear Mr. Rohit..
pls read the guidelines fully..
the criteria mentioned are only indicative..
schools can inculcate some of these or many other criteria as per their own objective as prescribed by the DOE guidelines...so neighbourhood, 1st child and many other criteria will be there....its just that we the General category will be fighting for the maximum 75% of seats as 25% surely have to go to EWS and..some portion can be eaten by Management Quota if this discretion of schools is approved by DOE..
Why is the notification date coming as 23rd November ,2010?
Please some one tell me about Transfer Cases ?
DOE OFFICIAL GUIDELINES ARE HERE
I would like all parents to read order No. F.DE/ACT/2010/7211 -7211 dated 15.12.2010 published on the website www.edudel.nic.in under the link public circulars.

And finally, it says the categories to be " ....based on criteria developed in terms of objectives of school..."
and MAY include sibling, transfer cases, single parent and alumni.." meaning thereby that these can be a criteria, but not mandatory.
So a school can have neighborhood as the only criteria, and then from this category, they have to do a random selection.
No testing or interview of child/parent is permitted ..."
