what kind of proceedure is this...they talk of international standards and can't maintain consistency in delhi only...forget about the whole country?
Forcing children of 3 yrs to get admitted in Nursery is not a welcome step. In my opinion, age should be 4+ for nursery.
I think it doesn't matter much whether admission age is 3 or 4 because most of the parents start sending kids to playschools when they are as young as 1.5 to 2 yrs. So, the only one who'll benefit from raising age bar will be the playschools.

However, the confusion over the age should be cleared by DoE asap.
If nursery admission age is increased, ppl will delay sending kids to play schools as well. Even if they keep sending kids at 2 yrs, the children will not have to bear burden of formal school till age 4. So in my opinion, age definitely matters for young children.
completely ridiculous methodolgy against little innocent kids!!! i really urge the authorities to close it at their earliest.. coz it is not just impacting the parents n schools, but the little innocents too...
we parents are in so much of confusion for process, age limt and on others aspects of Nursery Admission.
Very True we parents are at such a confused stage, everyday the first thing in the morning is search the entire paper for finding if anything has materilised regarding admission or not.
Sometimes feel like applying in NCR's. A very big question why discrimination with Delhi Kids.
I think Government should take a strict decision about the policy of admission for little kids. Every year the decision is taken by the government but never implemented and ultimately the schools are taking decision on his own as they wants. They are blackmailing the parents and playing with futures of little kids. Government should distribute a brochure with rules & regulations strictly applied to all the schools in Delhi which includes Government, Private and others. If any schools found guilty to not following the rules & regulations issued, the licence should immediately be cancelled. Till one or two schools may not suspended it will never happened. Age criteria should be 4+ as on 1st of April for nurserary admission. Dates of distribution of forms should be December 15th and closing dates should be upto 15th January for every schools which is covered under CBSE, Pvt Schools or any other. The gap of one months between starting and closing dates of issuing & submitting the forms will help the parents to take decisions, submission of forms, fulfill the required criteria and other formalities as the session for the year will start from 1st April every year. It will help everybody which include the rich, medium & poor, in Delhi to educate the future of the country.
If authorities issued guidelines at last moment in Dec 10, then schools will take more time in implementing them,
will result in more confusion for parents in getting admission of their little angles.
why all parents & all school should suffering due to deley in taking decsion by edu. authorities...
Totally atrocious,, Mr. Lovely should understand that the initiative has to be taken somewhere...and if its for the betterment of a generation then why not...there are soo many things which happen in Delhi and not in other states..and vice versa..if the goverment has taken so long to decide it for one state, i can only imagine the timelines if this gets implemented at national level..i guess my son who is 2.5 years will be benefitting from that when he is getting his children admitted to a school...
In my opinion the staement made by Kapil sibbal last year was very correct.
little children should be given some initial years for themselves before starting on their journey from a big new school.
and What is Discrimination..... if its done for good ...then why not??? others can follow.. why wait for another year and yet another year till evryone realise its worth.
i strongly feel that the age criteria should increase to 4+ yrs.
