Delhi nursery admissions to begin in January

Schools in the NCR are already winding up their nursery admission proces s, but it seems schools in Delhi will have to wait a little longer. The directorate of education (DoE) has said Delhi schools will start the process only in January. Parents have already started doing rounds of schools with anxiety building up for the annual admission process. Many have taken up seats in the NCR schools just to be secure before admissions in Delhi begin. DoE officials said all schools will follow a uniform schedule for admission to nursery in the academic session of 2013-14. " The nursery admission schedule over last few years has proved to be quite comfortable for parents. So we will most probably begin the process for the next session from January 1," a senior DoE official said . He also assured that the parameters adopted by every recognised private unaided school will be first approved by the government. According to DoE officials, there are nearly one lakh nursery seats across 1,200 private unaided schools in the city. " Many schools in Noida, Ghaziabad and Gurgaon are already through with their admission process but we do not want to start the process as of now. As the admissions are for next year, starting early will only make the process long," the official added.

Ya Sakshi, I got confused between pre-school and pre-primary and thought that pre-primary is nursery but Lathaa is right...BTW I have a son whose DOB is 15th March 2010..

Infact, I need one more clarification. Does Play School is a mandate/required before you can send your ward to school? Will this be counted as a negative point if someone's ward does not have a play school experience?

@Pradeep, Play school is not mandatory at all as in delhi no school gives any point for play school . only amiown which is feeder school of amity push vihar promotes kids to nursery on their whims and fancies.
