Document Attestation Query

Hi,

Can we submit documents (Address proof, Birth Certificate etc) attested by public notary? Are they accepted as per rules?

Even though Public Notary is not a govt. Gazetted Officer, according to Section 8 in The Notaries Act, 1952. 8. he has powers  to verify, authenticate, certify or attest the execution of any instrument. If schools did not mention attestation by Gazetted Officer you can get attestation from a Public Notary.
