Dear Mr. Vohra - all these hulla about profession and education background has created a situation now much worse that earlier, with only selected schools implementing the same and others already done with the process are exempt. I can't explain how much pain this has brought to parents who applied to schools offering these special points. We have now no clue as to what is the criterion for admission as on date - and no hope in getting to any decent school.
I hope soemday some one can take this plea to Mr. Lovely, and I hope I write on behalf of all such harassed parents - we should all sign the same and send it to DOE

Dear Mr. Lovely,
Here's a plea from a harassed parent - who till date was harassed by the schools and is now harassed by the DOE. In fact the DOE seems to be giving more room to the schools to harass parents.
The recent order to exclude parents qualification and profession from the qualificatioin criterian is a perfect example. First the order comes when many schools are already out with their lists, Most of these schools such as DPS give maximum marks to govt. servants, hence the timing couldn't please DOE officials and other govt. servants more.
Next it has no clarification on what has to be excluded from the grading criterion. If parents have to be out of the nursery admission process, then all of the following is non admissible in the points system:
1. Any educational qualification
2. Any profession including govt. service, police, armed forces, etc. (many schools have 3. special points for armed forces and govt. servants).
4. Points for transferable jobs.
5. Points for Alumni
6. Points on the basis of interaction
7. POints on the basis of group discussion
8. Any special reservations such as seats reserved for a particular class of officers wards.
Clearly there are so many exclusions now, that it would be better if DOE only specified inclusions. And the once left are only:
1. Points on distance
2. Points for Sibling
3. Points for Girl Child.
Since admissions in no schools is based on only these 3 points, all the process is wrong.
And at this late stage if due to DOEs threats only fue schools such as Sanskriti change their rules, parents of wards who specifically applied to schools offering points on the basis of admission loose out in a big way. Wouldn't this then amount to discrimination?
I am surprised at the ability of DOE to role out such ad-hoc directives at the last moment without giving a clear direction or much thought to it.
I hope you understand the plight of so many parents whose fate now hangs in limbo as simply because of bad timing and lack of clarity of other wise genuine and just effort by the govt.
I request your department to either make the decision mandatory on all schools in it's entirety and complete sereousness,; with a mechanism to monitor the revised process; this year, or implement the same in a well structure manner next year.
I hope my humble plea makes a positive impact.
Regards
Sandeep Gandhi
