Nursery Admissions in Delhi NCR 2025-26

Form Dates | Admission Criteria | Results | Fee Details | List of All Schools

Hi,

I am new to this site, would really appreciate any pointers on draw of lots.

Some schools have started with draw of lots. Is it for children who have scored same points?

Do we need to go to every school in our list (where we have applied), where Draw of lot is happening?

Thanks Lathaa for your inputs.

I could not find the relevant answer though (thread has become quite lengthy for me to track, no search option either). I have called up the school authorities to enquire about draw of lots, per them I don't need to be present their while draw is happening.

Is it really beneficial to be there during draw? Indraprastha school Dwarka draw of lots is scheduled for today.

I am also wondering with the same question. But i think to go in the DOL is not mandatory.

Hi Manish & Neeraj,

Draw of Lots is not a mandatory procedure, not every school will conduct it.

Shortlisting criterion for Draw of Lots are school specific.

Generally, it depends on no.of open seats available and on the total no.of general candidates registered.

If the no.of candidates with the same points are more than no. of seats available, schools' will conduct a Draw of Lots. Some schools segregate it into categories like Alumini, Staff wards, Male, Female.

In most cases they pick draws for Selecting the candidates and for preparing list of waiting candidates.

As per DOE notification it is mandatory for schools to inform regarding the date, time and venue for the Draw of lots and schools can use any medium (Emails/ Calls/ SMS/Websites') for this information dispersal.

It is not at all mandatory to attend this process.

Hi Gaurav,

Thanks for the comprehensive answer. Really clears the air on drawing of lots.
