Dwarka Schools asking for Token amount for confirmed Seat
Hi Sakshi n Team,
Some of the schools in Dwarka such as Delhi International EDGE, OPG World School, GD Goenka and Presidium are ready to allot confirm seats in Nursery class.
But this amount is non-refundable and booking needs to be done before the announcement of 1st List.
What do you suggest shall we go ahead and book our self a seat, but on the other hand we want to wait for other sought after schools too.
This very confusing and grave insult of DOE guidelines.

Hi,
Delhi International EDGE is asking for ₹25000, same amount for Presidium.
For OPG and GD Goenka they are saying to deposit fees including Annual charges and various sub-heads for the first quarter. But they all want it before the declaration of first list.

No you should wait for other schools as most of these schools have admissions open round the year as they cannot filll their seats,

OPG do the same for every year :)
Even they will offer you the seat after the result announce but this time they will give you the admission on their own condition.

Exactly, I also felt so. Most of the reputed schools takes max.of 5 mins to deposit your forms and documents.
But these schools have dedicated Admission counsellors sitting in their individual cabins, coaxing parents to fell in their malicious trap.

Capitation fees during admission is banned.
“Section 13 (1) No school or person shall, while admitting a child, collect any capitation fee and subject the child or his or her parents or guardian to any screening procedure
Parents should avoid these money minded schools and wait for first list. Keep these schools as last option.

Agreed, but this clause is a precautionary measure for parents.
What can be done against such schools?
DOE complaints portal is "working" as per their reputation.
Reaching out to area Deputy education officers are futile.
Literally, saw gullible parents getting confused in this so called transparent 'DOE' laid criterion.

Few schools are in violation of norms to fill their seats at the earliest and make a quick buck. Either those schools may be new or money making schools. And parents who are too eager to grab a seat may not be refunded any money, if they wish to leave later. Yes it's the responsibility of the government to ensure that these schools stick to the guidelines and more important, there has to be a centralised admission process for all schools, so that admission process becomes more transparent.
