email to director education regarding removal of alumni points

Sub: Points under the Alumni category-reg.

Respected Madam,

First of all I want to give thanks for making guidelines for nursery admission which is very much appreciated. Now, I want to draw your kind attention towards the points being given to alumni category, which is totally against the law of natural justice.

1. Alumni points is completely illogical.

2. I feel, all schools where draw was for 75 pointers, approx 30-40% were alumni and it deprives of the chances of General category parents who will be having only 70 points and now these seats are confirmed for alumni after transfer cases are being put in 70 points.

3. The concept of Raja ka beta Raja should be abolished and equal opportunity should be given to all children.

4. If it is not possible to abolish the alumni points then some percentage of seats may be fixed for Alumni category to give ensure justice to the kids of 70 points.

Expecting your prompt action and favorable orders.

Regards,

friends i request all of u to send email to director education since few time is left to issue new guideliness please.

all parents do write on diredu@nic.in since we have very short time to remove the alumni points for the future of ur kids

Please share the mail id of Director Education

diredu@nic.in

Totally disagree.. All alumni ppl, send mail at the id mentioned justifying alumni points and requesting non cancellation of the same.

PLEASE READ GANGULY COMMISSION REPORT

If I remember correctly, the Ganguly Commission Report also mentioned 5 points for girl child. If we implement that, all good schools will have 90% students as girls. Also, I think it talked about 10 points for education of parents, a PIL was filed against it and these points were scrapped in schools which were giving points for education of parents.

Sent to DOE

Yes this is genuine and point should be given to first born child, single girl child, disabled parents
I am shocked since this issue is burning from the morning but vohara sahab is silent. Respect Vohara sir, please please, come forward and show us any direction, what is going on... whether alumni points would be removed or not. Sakshi madam/ Tanwar sahab now its 4.30, please show us some light.

Suresh we dont think so at last moment

Lets wait for guidelines

Respected Vohra sir, i really appreciate your efforts regarding admision norms,im father of twin boys struggling hard to make my children gettin admission in nursery ... got stuck at 70 points, plz raise regarding points may be 5 or 10 for first born child or equal to sibling points for twin case.

i have sent this mail:

Sub: Regarding the fairness of Points under the Alumni category in D.O.E. Nursery admission guidelines 2014-2015.

Respected Madam,

I would Like to congratulate D.O.E. on its decision to revisit the transfer point criteria  and effort being made to make Nursery Admission more robust

and Just, providing equal opportunity to all.

Also I would like to draw your attention towards the unjustified Alumni Points mentioned in the Nursery Guidelines, these points are unjustified from the point of view of natural

justice and equal opportunity to all as mentioned below

  1. If my parents were not able to send me to a best school in Delhi, these Alumni points deprive my child also of that opportunity however close i might be from that particular school

(as in many good schools admission closed on 75 points itself no chance for 70 point applicant living close to such school).

  1.  If a parent has shifted beyond 8 km of the school in which he was an alumni, he is unable to apply for that school, unable to take advantage of alumni points just because he has

changed his location within Delhi thus diminishing his child's chances as in new locality this child will be 70 pointer, so all such shifting parents in Delhi are struck out of an opportunity vis-à-vis those who have not shifted.

  1.  This is prone to Mismanagement and fraud, as the onus of checking documents is on school, they may accept fraud application for back door entry. ( if a parent name matches

with a school alumni and he claims to be the same alumni, only the school can tell if its right claim or not but if school itself colludes with that parent, or school doesn't do its due diligence,

then who can challenge it)

again this Alumni point clause makes a case for guidelines being prone to be challenged in the court again by some parents in future, which can again lead to a very cumbersome activity of redraw.

for DOE, Schools, parents and Child.

Expecting a fair consideration of above from your office.

Regards,
