EWS income certificates Fraud or Truth

Schools should do more scrutiny of EWS income certificates . Some People show false income certificates and get their kids admitted in school of choice from EWS quota  .  Even Well -to - do families got EWS income certificates prepared which i feel is a fraud and needs to be checked .

Schools can't challenge the officer who issued fake/fabricated certificates. Power should be given to schools from the Dte of Edn to cross check with physical verification of antecedents and help from income tax department should be given if needed by the school. But this should be done after grant of admission. Defaulters should be trialed by the court.

Some other punitive exercises may also be incorporated to create fear among the fake applicants.

Yeah.. I am even observing this issue.. People who are applying in EWS category don't look like earning lesser than Rs 8000.. I got to know that one of a school in North Delhi creates a separate section for EWS students... I think that exercise is itself a penalty for those applicants for the applying using fake EWS certificates.. I think all schools should do this.. At the end of the day what is important -- EWS candidate is being given same infrastructure, teachers, etc (at a subsidized cost) like a general candidate..Birds of same feather will be flock together if their parents have not misused EWS quota

I visited couple of schools today collecting and depositing forms... what amused me most was people coming in EWS category. From there what they were wearing and sleek mobiles and high heels ladies were wearing could not make if they really were EWS.

Schoold should completly scrutnize the EWS forms , chances are very high of fake certificates.

Even last week I visited Apeejay School Pitampura for purchasing a Form. I saw one person having Samsung Tab worth Rs 25000 purchasing EWS Form. I think we should raise this concern and register complaint at Delhi School admission helpline no. 011-27352525 

I hope if we all will register complaints then definitely they will take some action on time.

Schools cannot deny admission if EWS persons have proper proof. Corrupted officials are the main persons for this activity. It is their duty to issue certificate after proper inspection. A joint home inspection both by a official from school and a official from DOE should be done after admission and if found fraud proper action should be taken.

Thanks Latha Ma'm, there had been examples in the past from the parents of such admitted students that they are being supported financially from their in-laws or other relatives, hence their income remains to be even nil in some cases. Is this not injustice to the deserving applicants who are really weaker section? Even they are getting benefit of various schemes from Delhi Govt. SC/ST/Minority Commissions.

Who should take up such issues - Schools, parents/Bodies? How can we challenge a Tehsildar's verification? If so, can you please tell me the procedure?

I think this deserves to be brought to the attention of the media and the courts. Team AN - please raise this concern as today we are all seeking to fight corruption. Sumit ji should right to CM and make him aware of these developments. Also schools should ask for PAN card numbers + 6 month bank statements from EWS categories.  this menace needs to be addressed.

Moderators - please help us on highlighting this aspect to DOE and government

Yes I have gone through it few days before. Even schools know half of the EWS are fraud but with perfect documents schools remain helpless. The officials of District monitoring committee and schools should jointly conduct inspection and cancel such admissions immediately if found fake and take legal actions against such fraud cases.
