FOUR POINTS ON NURSERY ADMISSIONS IN DELHI
No logic for additional points for transfer cases
One can understand some kind of special treatment being given to kids who need to get admission in between the session due to transfer case. The purpose of doing this could be to ensure that current session of the kid does not get hampered due to transfer. But please keep in mind this situation comes only when transfer happens between the sessions. In case of nursery admission, there is no question of session break because this session is yet to start. In fact the school education for the kid is about to start, therefore there is no logic at all in giving any kind of preference to transfer cases for nursery admissions. If we agree to the above logic, it would be interesting to know, how the proposal of additional points for transfer case started. Do we not feel that someone must have fed some inputs.

Very high number of transfer case
Probably the admissions would have continued with this criteria and got concluded if the number of transfer cases were not this high. It is important to understand what can be possible reasons for such high no. of transfer cases this year.
May be there are so many transfer cases every year and it is normal
May be there have been sudden surge in business requirement in Delhi this year and that has led to such high transfer cases
May be some cases are actual genuine transfer cases and there are lot of cases which have been crafted as transfer case.

I am not an expert on this matter, nor do I have facts. But I am sure there are capable officers who, if given opportunity, can scrutinize all the transfer case documents and assess which are genuine and which are not. If it is found that some candidates furnished documents which could have been created only to get benefit of additional points in nursery admission then, such cases should not be left with mere cancellation of admission, it should be processed through the legal proceedings as well.

Respect policy change by authorities
We must understand that the policy has been changed by the authorities after due diligence, it is a change in policy. It is not a consultation paper which needs further inputs and discussions on the matter. We must learn to respect the decisions taken. If such objections are allowed, there is no end to it. Today one group has objection, tomorrow some other group will have some other objection. We all must respect the decision issued by the authorities and the admission process should be allowed to function and get concluded by 15th March as per directions.

Immunity for future
While this matter gets concluded this time rightfully, it is important to give some immunity to the system such that in future one person or a handful of people do not have the liberty do sabotage the normalcy in national capital by way of disrupting the nursery admission procedure due to their self interest. In the disguise of natural justice, one should not be empowered to stall the fate of complete population.

Essense of the situation.

Preeti I liked few of the points....such as very high number of transfer cases.....yeas I agree there may be very high number of transfer cases but few of the schools have scruitised all the transfer cases and out of that they have removed fake cases and to check fake cases there are lot of simple ways instead of just removing the transfer points.....now point no.1 the transfer points are isllogical....I dont agree on this as I know what the transfer people are going throgh.......just put yourself in situation and think about this suppose on nov 2013 if somebody tells you to shift to Pune what will you do........first of all you will start knowing about the city.......then when you get time you will go to the city .....then you will find proper place to live which is very big task....and these steps sound very easy but it takes long time ,lot of trips and lot of balancing of personal matters , official matters....it is very easy to say that transfer is very easy thing.....if you go in to deatils there are hundreds of things are involved.......Respect the policy change .....exactly I agree on this point, but if somebody is changing the policy one day before of the final list is it right ? for which we all have taken nearly 2 months effort and left all our other important task aside and then you change it and put us again in the same loop ? is it right...

Ritesh Ji, I agree with you moving from one city to other is indeed a big hassle. But you know, even people living in delhi that too in rented accomodations also change apartments/ houses, they too undergo the same pain that you mention, for changing residence, mabye not the trips, but everything else that you mention, do you or dont you think they should also be given benefit of moving?

i am totally agree with you......... lots of school have checked the transfer cases if they found fake transfer cases then they remove it............birla vidya niketan,st george school, the indian school they all have check the transfer case correctly...........with some parents they take interview regarding their trasfer cases,,,,,,,,,,,,then why at the last moment these thing r happen...................

Let me respond to you on logic of transfer case. I would agree that it is difficult for such parents who get transferred two months back. And in such case, these parents would not be able to get documents for residential proof etc, so in such cases, on case to case, they may be brought at par with neighbourhood cases. But there is still no logic fr any additional points, unless offcourse you look forward to schools to compensate for transfer inconvenience caused to you by ur office.
