thanks a lot Sumit sir for raising this pertinent voice of parents from all possible corners-by all means the selection criteria should be fair & just and acceptable for all with no undue favour for some sections and also no punishment for some really eligible ones without any of their fault.At last the criteria are supposed to be made by the experts for the larger good of the vast majority of parents concerned.

(Surely as we see in our top rung engg./medical & mba institutions there is no such quota/weightage for ward of alumni...but its the pure success in competitive exams that ultimately does matter. )

So can DOE make a good people friendly guideline where schools do not become choosy yet all get a fair chance to be elgible for selection albeit in the boundary of some objective well defined criteria.
