Nursery Admissions in Delhi NCR 2026-27

Form Dates | Admission Criteria | Results | Fee Details | List of All Schools

Last few days have been very tumultuous to say the least... With sibling, alumni and interstate points playing spoilsport for many kids in prestigious schools.  Not only that Now i am reading all kind stuff with regards to admission process - with some schools not disclosing the waiting list in time, some parents claiming that schools are asking for donation to admit their wards, fake transfer cases, multiple address applications etc.

This has really shaken the confidence of ppl in the system, their is a need to make the system robust. Do not see this happening any time soon, as it takes long term vision on the part of administrators to set the system right. Which sadly no body want to talk about.

I dont know whether this is the right forum to post this complaint but i need to bring something to notice for all the members of nursery admission .com.
A collegue of mine has filled up forms for the admission of his son this year to nursery under EWS. He was called for document verification to St Thomas School yesterday. When he went there he was told that his address is around 6 kms from the school and till now they are shortlisting candidates upto 2 kms only. As far as I know it is 70 points till 8 kms as per the DOE rules. How can the school decide admission on the basis of distance within 8 kms? SOmeone residing 1 km away or 7 kms away shouldnt make any difference since both the distances lie within 70 point criteria! Can we do something about it?

It's right.

DOE Delhi has laid down the following neighbourhood criteria for EWS and DG which was implemented from 31.1.2012 after HC Order.

Admission shall first be offered to eligible students belonging to EWS and DG residing within 1 km of the specific school.

In case the vacancies remained unfilled, students residing within 3 km of the school shall be admitted.

If there are still vacancies, then the admission will be offered to other students residing within 6 km of the institution.

Oh i wasnt aware of this. Thanks Lathaa ji

moreover this is a minority school they are allowed to make their own guidelines
