Hindustan Times 25 July (Gurgaon Admissions)Siblings get priority for nursery seats, some parents irked

GURGAON:

Many schools in Gurgaon have started offering nursery seats to children under sibling category, triggering strong opposition from a section of parents.

Many parents who are planning to apply for a nursery seat for their wards in the coming session said that early admission in the sibling quota will reduce their chances.

Many parents from Delhi seek admission for their wards in Gurgaon schools after they fail to get a seat in their preferred schools in the capital.

“I have been researching on nursery admissions in Gurgaon for the past three months and have found that many schools give preference if any sibling studies in the same school. In this case, my child will have limited choice for admissions,” said Shweta Trivedi, a resident of DLF 4, whose son will be eligible for nursery admission this year.

Experts argued that while it is convenient for parents to have their children in the same school, offering early admission only to sibling  is a misuse of sibling quota."Some Gurgaon schools are misusing the sibling criteria as they are indirectly screening children,” said Sumit Vohra, founderCEO, admissionsnursery.com

Schools, however, said such admissions are called as parents are part of the school family.

Lack og any regulatory body like doe .... gurgaon and noida schools are given free hand to exploit parents....

 Hello Mr Jain

That is the need of the hour and you have described the solution in single line.

Yes its needed dr amita ji.... but political willingness is needed.... parents of ncr region must give there representation and force their respective state govts to form such regulatory bodies in both the states

Mahesh
