Nursery Admissions in Delhi NCR 2024-25

My daughter is a US Citizen, thus she doesn't have a MCD birth certificate. Does OCI card works in place of MCD certificate as proof of age? Also is there extra points or quota for NRI child?

Thanks!

Yes, OCI card works in place of MCD certificate as proof of age but there is No extra points or quota for NRI child.

Thanks a lot Sakshi!

Anytime  :)

Hi Sakshi,

Why can't we show the Birth certificate received from USA as age proof instead of showing the OCI Card?

Hi Gaurav,

I am in the same situation as yours. My child is also a US citizen. For age proof, you should be having his birth certificate received from USA. Why you need to furnish the OCI Card as an age proof?

Also, I am worried that will the schools filter out the foreign nationals during the final selection process even if we meet their points criteria.

US birth certificate may not be recognized by schools as they don’t have a way to validate it. Also with India visa the child can stay in India for period of 6 months within a year. For longer stay you need an OCI.

Thanks. Please let me know if you faced any challemges during the ovrall admissin process due to foriegn nationality.

Hello, i am in the same boat.. i hv submitted forms with US birth certificate nd didn’t face any issues. A minor can stay as long as visa is valid, 6 months rule is not applicable for a child as per my knowledge. So OCI is not mandatory. Correct me if i am wrong
