Nursery Admissions in Delhi NCR 2025-26

Form Dates | Admission Criteria | Results | Fee Details | List of All Schools

Untill and unless alumni points are scrapped together with transfer pointers than only we 70 pointers will not get seat in any school. As I feel in all schools where draw is for 75 pointers ,50% are alumni and hence they are in waistline.now  those  seat will get confirmed after transfer r put in 70 points and there will not be any chance for 70 pointers.Schools will not take the pain to redraw and they will only fill the vacant seat from the wait list. Alumni r always welcome in every schoolSo we have to appeal for scarping of alumni points also and only than it will be fair for all kids..

I am not an alumni within 8 km but I think so it is justified...
It is valid for only 2school maximum

Please send this email to people concerned.

Dear Sumit -

I hope you will be able to take up this with as much fervor as the transfer points. I agree that the TP system was irrational. But this is much worse as it is simply UNFAIR.

It is creating an intellectual elite of parents who went to good quality schools and thus giving their children a pre emptive right to the same institutions. We over romanticise the idea of multiple generations in a family going to the same school. Instead, it is far more important to create a level playing field giving everyone an equal opportunity of getting into good schools.

Dear Madam / Sir,

On behalf of thousands of parents in Delhi, this is express my utter helplessness in respect of the ongoing nursery admissions in Delhi this year.
As parents, we have intellectual and financial capability of providing the best education possible in Delhi for our son. Yet, we are completely at the mercy of a lottery system. Even that would be fine, provided it was a level playing field for parents and was not subjected to multiple criteria.
I understand that you are taking off the interstate transfer points. In the same stroke, I strongly request you to strike off the sibling and alumni points as well. It furthers the divide between the "haves and have nots" and keeps children of parents like us who have moved or went to lesser schools away from good quality schools in their neighborhood for absolutely no fault of theirs. In addition, I fail to see the rationale of an alumnus's daughter having the first right to his parent's school. I went to an IIM and I hope my son gets an admission there as well - but not because I am an alumnus.
This will create a level playing field - which is a clear need of the hour. As you know, this is also the global trend - where only distance from the school is the key criteria of shortlisting.
I hope you will consider our request.
Yours sincerely,
Gaurav

Alumni points are totaly unjustified:-

1. If my parents were not able to send me to a best school in delhi, these Alumni points deprive my child also of that opportunity however close i might be from that particular school(as in many good schools admission closed on 75 points itself no chance for 70 point applicant living close to such school

2. If a parent has shifted beyond 8 km of the school in which he was alumni, he is unable to apply for that school, unable to take advantage of alumni points just because he has changed his location within delhi thus dimnishing his child's chances as in new locality this child will be 70 pointer (fighting against the alumni in new locality), so all such shifting parents in delhi are strucked out of an opportunity vis a vis those who have not shifted.

3. This is prone to Mismanagement and fraud, as the onus of checking documents is on school, they may accept fraud application for back door entry. ( if a parent name matches with a school alumni and he claims to be the same alumni, only the school can tell if its right claim or not but if school itself colludes with that parent, or school doesn't do its due delligence, then who can challenge it).

A school become gud school bcoz of its students who had passed from the school have done well in the society. These student give reasons to other people to make their ward study in that school otherwise why the hell people carve for few only wen there are hundreds with similar infrastructure and equally qualified teachers. So give some credit to alumni who have given you reasons to chose a school.
Alumni points should be scrapped along with inter state transfer points.
I think we guys should move forward and get these alumini points scrapped else seats vacated by transfer cases will be eaten by them.

Thanks Ashish for thinking like a Human. Having alumni point still in favour of only few % instead of 5  points! Wow. All the way i was teased by reading biased views. I do agree that alumni do favour to school by excelling in their professional life and they should have a little advantage.

It is current point imbalance which has turned people against it.. Slabbed distance point would have kept everyone cool.

Pray for luck to everyone!

ranjan i think we should think seriously about this alumni points. we should again come together and fight for it  as we have done for transfer case. other wise our kidswill have very less probability of for getting name in list of school which we had applied.

the same question what is logic for alumni points  and rightly said  in previous comments if alumni points are removed the chance for selection of kids gets doubled

What should we do to remove alumni points.Otherwise we will not get seat anywhere..Pls prepare a action plan.

another PIL

Very true , what if a kid's parent not from the same school. It is neither child's fault neither ours. ye to pirhi dar pirhi chalti rahegi.why such discremination.all kids are equal. Remove all points system , which does not treat them equally
