Nursery admission Updates: TOday delhi high court adjourned the hearing of social jurist petition on age of students at the entry level in the formal education system. the court will decide the issue on 21st of December 2011.The reason for adjournment was delay tactics fo Govt. and Action committee of Unaided schools who have filed their counter affidavit too late to respond. the action commitee served the copy on 12th of dec and the govt. served the same in court room itself. The affidavit filed by govt. does not contradicts social jurist stand and most of the averments by the petitioner is admitted by the DOE but again as usual the have justified their delay by the name of inactment of RTE and even indicated more delay as they need to consult all the stake holders and expert in RTE scenario. DOE even does not requests court to dismiss the petition but requests the court to pass an order in this regard and they will implement that order.
the affidavit file by the Action commiteee try to confuse the issue in the name of RTE but nothing substantial has been mentioned. they have tried to mix up the concept of Pre school a seperate school recomended by Ganguly commiteee.

Since you are pressing for 4+, are you also taking a stand that one year of KG be scrapped altogether as this will only mean admission in 1st at the age of 5. Thanks

we are with the parents and according to our survey and on forum discussions parents want 4 yr age and Mr ganguly proposed one yr of preprimary before 1st std

I agree that a confusion to mix up the concept of pre-school has been created...In the end govt.vl say that the nursery and KG are the pre-school classes being handled by the formal schools having infrastructure facilties..and the child begins the school at 5, ven he is in first...

Hi all iam a parent of 3 year old daughter and want admission for her this year. can u please help me as right now iam not in india. how can i apply for the forms staying abroad for a while. is there any way out to apply online and gv interview on line too. becoz we will back to india in july next year. help.

1 Age criteria to be decided on 21 dec whether 3yrs or 4 yrs for nursery
2 Most of the good schools have online forms (you have to come in feb for document verification in selected schools)
3 No interview in delhi schools
4 Yes some school ask you to fill manual forms

if i cm and fill the forms and get the interview etc done all stuff , how will my daughter join the school from july or august instead of april. we will go back and will come late in august to india. please solve my worry.

Dear Shailika,
I am in a similar situation for my 3 year old. I have checked with couple of sources and have learnt that the school can give admission in the middle of the year only if there are vacant seats which I don't think will be the case; At least not in the reputed schools.
I think we just need to wait until Dec 21st when the age criteria will be decided. If it turns out to be 4 years, then you don't have to worry about admitting her next year.
