Well every school should start 2 shifts, one in morning and the other whn the first is over...using the existing facilities and infrastructure...only requirement is to appoint some more staff ...I guess this will solve the admission problem to some extend...

Good thought, Mothers pride already does that.  But school transport due to two shift collision will be a chaos in our country..it is not USA..

Truly said Priya Ranja, In Delhi it is not so easy due to traffic chaos at the same timing of peak hours of office closures. 2 shift s are not good and it will even affect the quality teaching because of timings.

govt schools already run 2 shifts, so people are used to chaos if any, a school is already on the track of starting second shift

I see only two solutions to the nightmare faced by parents each year..

a) Improve govt. schools par with private schools(Quite unbelievable!! I Know)

b) Make all private/govt schools ppd and under one management (Equally unbelievable as above)

..bottom line is every school will nurture your kid equally well and no more rush and tension.

..Don't be serious people at lottery pots think wildly.. It is job for our education minister not me..

@priya mam... this is not gonna happen.. coz the private school will not like this and make every hurdle to dump this idea otherwise there own shops will be closed. This is with he fact that many politicians run there own schools directly or indirectly and the govt schools are also managed by them. So how they will improve the govt schools which will mar there education business privare shops

make mandatory for wards of teachers of govt schools, to study in govt schools, to improve govt school teaching std

With due respect sir ......why you want to make it mandatory for govt teachers only... make it for polticians ' Ward too....and its societies responsibility To have there own child into a govt school and as a community all members keep watch on govt school functioning. And more over its a personal choice To have ones's child in a particular school.... may be u will not agree . But its true.

Mahesh, this is the problem. Everyone desires admission in the school of his choice, but that is not possible because of huge gap in demand and supply and unequal distribution of schools. 

We parents talk 3+ kids should not be exposed to travel long more, at the same time we also speak for increasing the distance criteria. What is this? You will agree every zone of Delhi is having govt. schools whereas it is not in the case of private schools. This is the problematic area. The problem can be sorted out to some extent if govt schools are held accountable by the students/ govt./parents and local bodies. It is our money with which their teachers/staff are being paid. Am I wrong?

U r right sir.... i m govt teacher and we r held responsible for our result. And pvt schools r just a status symbols for parents. And i know how qualified teachers pvt schools have and with low pay what kind of quality they give???? Every parent will conform that we have to teach or send our ward to tuitions ... let be  big name school or small one....

pvt schools & after that people want govt / govt funded colleges

hike the fees for IIT/IIM/AIIMS/RECs for pvt. school students by 10 times of actual cost

then see the effect

i remember when i was a student a govt school maths teacher was so much in demand for pvt tutions that top pvt school students wanted him to tutor them
