Let them criticize. From day one I opposed these new guidelines, but many objected and see now they themselves are crying even though I am also not happy as these foolish guidelines have taken away all my chances of securing a seat for my ward but I also can't help.

Instead of ONLY ruling the private schools, the Govt. should also look into its working. The whole infrastructure has to improve. The private schools are just the PART ,NOT the only PART of the whole infrastructure.

Sooner or later Govt. schools will have to upgrade, otherwise this problem will only inflate.

Dear Rukman, thanks and keep commenting to reform the corrupt system. Who knows your point may be considered in the times to come. We need to necessarily upgrade our govt. schools and also to open private schools promising quality education equally across Delhi/NCR/country. Unless the gap between demand and supply of quality schools is filled, somewhat problem will exist in the system.

I wonder how our LG framed these guidelines inspite of having background from education sector and even he might have been watching/reading nursery admission stories in news since 2007.

These guidelines were actually made in a hurry. I don't understand what this DOE dept. does the whole year???

It ONLY wakes up just before the start of the admission process. Forming guidelines is NOT a rocket science, only it needs to be well thought after. Also a lot can be learned from the past several years experiences as almost all the previous years have followed identical but technically different guidelines.

I don't think much will change in this session as its too late to make changes. We are forgetting that most of the schools after including 75 pointer (alumni+transfer case) have conducted draws and have declared the successful candidates list. Now if the general category is benefited by such removal of transfer points, one should not forget that there will also be an opposition from the community who are successful in various draws and have won a seat. Imagine if I would have been lucky enough to secure a seat in a reputed school for my ward will I let it go in the betterment of the general lot???

Rukman, you are absolutely correct. Guidelines should be prepared with the consultancy of educationist (pvt school teacher and govt school teacher), social thinker, govt. official, parent, media expert, edn analyst including one criticizer having good analytic mindset.   Others may also be included like Mr. Sumit Vohra who is constantly fighting for parent community rather good admission system.

I echo Mr Maharam.
