New rules for specially able children

Need to understand if you are aware bout the fact that specially abled children would also study in the same class as any other child?
Recently I got to know that DOE has passed some law??

Hi Vinisha,

Well it depends on school to school and if the school has the infrastructure to support the special needs child and the capability of the child and mainly if the child gets admission in school with special need support or not via DOE.

If we take an example of Vasant Valley it has the great infrastructure and the support system. The children of special need do sit in mainstream class room with neurotypical kids and a full time special educator is there to support the child all the time. Mainly the children who are high functional are mainstreamed.

Having said that Vasant Valley only mainstream those children who they think can be mainstreamed ( they decide this based on their evaluations).

The children who cannot be mainstream put separate in a blue room ( this is what vasant valley call it) and the children do get the therapy and the necessary support. These kids are very much the part of school and do get the access to all the things which other children get.

If the child gets admission in any school which does not have the infrastructure then it becomes difficult and child is unable to cope up.
