New Delhi, Nov 28 (PTI) With just a month left for the beginning of nursery admissions, Delhi Education Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely today indicated there will be almost no change in guidelines for enrolment issued last year.

"The guidelines will almost remain same as last year," Lovely said replying to a question on the issue.

Last year, the guidelines had given schools the room to formulate their own set of criteria for admission. This included points for having one''s sibling in the same school, being the child of an alumnus, first girl child and kids living in school neighbourhood among others.

The Minister said the guidelines are likely to be issued next month and the admission process will start in January.

Asked about the Delhi High Court seeking Delhi government''s opinion on a petition demanding not allowing schools to admit children below four years of age in nursery classes, he said government would tell the court about its position on the issue.

I expected only this kind of behaviour from a dictator Govt who did no good for common people.....It's your mistake if you are not from minority or EWS or have a boy child....Mr. Lovely, why don't you let parents whether they want to admit their child at an age of 3 or 4? Why you stick to 3? Why not 4? Any personal benefits?
