SCHOOLS granting nursery admission on the basis of parents professions will not have it easy this year.

Several institutions in the Capital found guilty on this count were let off with just a warning last year. But this time erring schools will have their admission process cancelled.

This will find specific mention in the fresh admission guidelines to be issued by the state directorate of education to all the schools around the first week of December.

“ Last year, they ( the schools) were let off because we were a little late in pointing out this anomaly to the schools. By then, most of them had wrapped up their admission process. We did not cancel admission then as the children would suffer for no fault of theirs,” education minister Arvinder Singh Lovely said.

“ This year, we will not leave any scope for excuses,” he added.

Delhi schools admit children in nursery on the basis of a 100- points system. Under this, schools have to compulsorily disclose their admission criteria and distribute 100 points among them. Alumni, siblings and distance are among factors on which schools grant admission.

In 2009, some institutions assigned points to parents professional background — considered discriminatory.

then what all points are giving preference in deciding points system....everyday we have new confusion arises...and the tension goes up day by day for our litlle ones.....now pls its high time we should have everything in place....

What you do decides where your child studies... In that case parents need not only run from pillar to post during admission process, but also start working harder professionally so as to move up the ladder and apply for more degree courses so that his child can get admission in a school....

dnt worry parents the govt thinks us fool.........daily a new statement...a new rule.....either the govt officials r mad or they r makng us mad....i think there are around 10-15 days left......for new doe guidelines till then be ready for next 10-15 statements daily.......Oh God plz save us..........
