Just one question to all these schools, If the parents are illiterate or having less qualification, Don't they have rights to put their kids in good schools for education?

Yes Abhay, You are spot on and as per RTE screening of parents and kids is not allowed.

What's the point in hiding the name? Of course Apeejay in Noida exactly did this. On one table they had parents getting interviewed and on the other they asked the child to identify colours, shapes, put them in blocks and what not... As soon as the teacher(s) responsible for child assessment are finished they pass on a sheet of paper to the teacher interviewing the parent (of course folded) and depending upon child's performance the interview might come to an abrupt end. Hopeless!

A couple of minutes of interaction with the kid allows them to take a call whether the kid is fit to join their school or not...

Kids which usually range in age 2.5 to 3.5 years at the time of the interview still have 'One' Year of gap amongst them. How is this getting accounted for???

Can anyone share - What are the exact RTE guidelines and why they would conveniently not follow them?

Parents - More comments on this please...

Today faced the so called Interaction session in DPS Vaundhara along with my kid. Though they are telling that this is not the selection process but this is the actual process they are following by violating RTE guidelines.

I had appeared for a similar test at Amity Noida and some of the questions which were asked were completely irrelevant for example, What is the point of asking Maternal Grand Parents education? Also for the schools require certificates of proof for the education. My parents have lost all their certificates so I had to end up not updating any details for the same. I also wrote to the principal of the school complaining about the inappropriate questions but haven't received any reply yet.

The problem lies when these schools manipulate things, like as some one said that the schools call for the interactive session but then they start the interview. So at that point what to do either to succumb to the situation or to oppose. If one opposes then one knows that fate.

Now this has happened in Noida and Ghaziabad where people have all the awareness of being in NCR. But imagine smaller cities, the parents are totally lost, to whom to complain. OK make a complain to the education dept. and lets become crusader but after all who is loosing.... IT's the CHILD.

Also the NCR schools have diffrent dates of registration and fee submission which has a major portion as non refunable amount .. Cant we take some action to make it simple as in delhi after ruling from HC that all School needs to open and close the admissions on the same date so we can decide and select the schools as per our choice among the Schools we get admission

It indeed is a nightmare

1. Checking for dates in newspapers (It could be the one you don't subscribe to!!!)

2. Checking school websites for updates (quite a few of them are very poorly maintained, with previous year information still reflecting on admission pages...)

3. Some of them do have the download option for the forms but most of them do not have an online submission option.

4. Date of admissions, forms availability, last date of form submission, date of shorlisted children announcement,  Date of Interaction (read Interview), First cut out list; all vary - So even if you have shortlisted 5 schools for your child, a minimimum permutation and combination is 25 dates! with a high probability of overlaps.

5. This indeed is a nightmare for parents ...

Had it not been for the forums like admissionnursery.com, many of us would miss at least some of the dates...

Delhi is a good example of how things can be streamlined -

Admission Window is open from 1st to 15th January and results are declared on 15th Feb. Absolutely no ambiguity...

Wish At least in Delhi NCR things could be streamlined...

I had to go through a whole year of constantly preparing my little 1 who was barely 2.5 yrs old to get into a reputed school in Ghaziabad..I recently went for the interview & it was a proper 3.5 hours session...in which all the above i.e objective questions for parents, information about child and family income etc were asked. Also the child was taken separately into another room for his interaction and later on the parents had 2 sessions..one was GD and the other where more questions were asked...I dont understand how on the basis of all this they'll decide whether to give admission or not...the principle said whatever we are doing is not a selection but an elimination process..but my child is pretty bright ...what options are we left with if he isn't selected?
