One week into the nursery admission process and the Directorate of Education (DoE) is already flooded with complaints ranging from
schools selling over-priced forms to forcing parents to buy prospectus.
Parents have complained that parents are forced to buy prospectus that are priced as high as Rs 400. Another common complaint is that the schools are denying forms to people from the economically weaker sections. DoE director P Krishnamurthy said: ‘‘We have received over 100 complaints. Action will first be taken at the zonal level.
It is a transparent process with the complaints being listed on the website. It has just been a week and we have to give time to schools to respond to our notices.’’ The complaint list includes some of the ‘big schools’ in the city.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Abhibhavak Mahasangh (DAM) on Monday alleged that private schools have made a mockery of the admission policy of the government.
