Nursery admission guidelines next week: Lovely
New Delhi, Dec 8 (PTI) Ending anxiety surrounding nursery admissions, Delhi Government today said it will issue guidelines for the enrolment process next week and the entire exercise is likely to be completed by March 31.
The admission forms would be issued between January 2 and 16, Education Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely said after a meeting with top officials of his department. He has already hinted the criteria for enrolment would be almost same as that of last year.
Last year, government had given almost total leeway to private schools to set their own criteria for enrolment of the tiny tots. The schools were given a free hand to frame their own criteria for admission provided they are within broad contours of the Right to Education Act.
Barring parents'' qualifications and their income, schools were free to include all relevant criteria like proximity of school to students'' residences, single parents and son and daughters of alumni. (more) PTI MPB

NEW DELHI: Parents anxiously waiting for nursery admissions to begin have less than a month to prepare. The pre-admission forms for nursery will be available between January 2 and 16 at private unaided schools though the government will release admission guidelinesonly next week.
The directorate of educationwill announce the admission rules and the age criterion only after Delhi high court's decision on December 14.
"Guidelines for nursery admissions will be issued by next week and the admission process will go on till March 31," DoE officials said.
Meanwhile, many parents have already started collecting details of schools best-suited to them. Anjali Kapoor, a parent from Vasant Kunj, said, "For the last two weeks, we had been preparing a list of schools with their parameters for admission last year. We have also been in touch with other parents through our child's playschool. Nursery admissions is a hot topic of discussion among our friendsthese days."
Another parent, Arti Jain (MEMBER OF AdmissionsNursery.Com), whose son could not get admission anywhere despite applying in 21 schools last year, said, "Parameters like alumni, sibling, gender and transfer case favour a particular set of children. My son is a first child and I have not studied in any private school in the neighbourhood. If conditions remain the same this year too, I don't see a chance of my son getting admission anywhere," said Jain, who lives in Connaught Place. Her son has continued in the play school.
Several schools in west Delhi had also announced their own admission schedule initially though they had to withdraw it after intervention by DoE officials.
It is now mandatory for all private unaided schools to follow the schedule announced by government on Thursday. All private unaided schools will also have to continue with providing 25% quota to students from economically weaker section.
Delhi government has decided to issue common admission forms for EWS admissions this year.
The forms will be available on the websiteof directorate of education.

New Delhi: Ending anxiety surrounding nursery admissions, Delhi Government on Thursday said it will issue guidelines for the enrolment process next week and the entire exercise is likely to be completed by March 31.
The admission forms would be issued between January 2 and 16, Education Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely said after a meeting with top officials of his department. He has already hinted the criteria for enrolment would be almost same as that of last year.

Barring parents' qualifications and their income, schools were free to include all relevant criteria like proximity of school to students' residences, single parents and son and daughters of alumni. Lovely said each school will have to reserve 25 percent of the total seats for children belonging to the economically weaker section (EWS) as per provision of the RTE Act.
He said government has decided to provide common admission forms for enrolment under EWS category at all schools across the city as parents of children belonging to the category faced a lot of difficulties last year.
Forms for admission under EWS category will be made available on the website of the Directorate of Education.
Lovely said a complete list of admissions and number of vacant seats regarding enrolment of EWS children will have to be submitted by each school to the Directorate of Education by March 31.
"Thereafter, a public notice would be issued for vacant seats under EWS quota," he said.

@Lathaa Ji, Your perception might be true. But for the last 10 years I am distributing/selling the forms at the gate and did not find anything wrong with the period. On 2-3 days parents hardly approached for forms. More, over schools are not too rigid denying issue of forms without names or fresh certificates etc. Yes of, course, the rush is on the 1st and last day --1st being the curiosity, responsibility towards the child, feelings of first come-first serve and the last - Oh, I was not here, wasn't aware, something went wrong, trapped in jam...etc.. etc. earlier we used to sell forms only for a week (5 working days). now 10-12 days. Dear, the problem will continue unless we prepare ourselves well in advance, unlike our preparations for other examinations too.
Last year, the date was extended to 20 Jan for EWS, only 7 forms were distributed by me for a duration of 5 days. Why the parents should prepare themselves for documents only after getting the form? Are they not aware of their responsibilities? Business or service is a lifelong process, but admission of their child is the prime one in cities where seats are limited. Therefore, in my view, time is sufficient.
But trend in Dwarka schools were different since whole West Delhi parents apprached the schools. Anyway parents should be responsible and get equipped.

Thank you ...for the above query.
Few more query...
1.I Dnt hold Ration card in Delhi.
2.Who will give a 3yrs proof living in Delhi.I have been living here since 2002.
3.Who wil give Domicile Certificate.
Pls reply back..
Read the documents required for EWS carefully.
1.If you don't have a Ration Card, an Income certificate issued by revenue officer not below the rank of Tehsildar is sufficient.
2. For Proof of continuous stay in Delhi for the last 3 years you can show Education certificate, Electricity bill, House tax, Water bill etc.
So proof of residence show Voter's id or Electricity bill/MTNL telephone bill / water bill / Passport in the name of any of the parents.
3. What You Need to Do to Obtain a Domicile Certificate
The prescribed application forms are either available online or from the local authorities, i.e. the Sub-Divisional Magistrate/Tehsildar's office/Revenue Department/District Collector's Office, or any other authority as specified in the State/UT of your residence. You will be required to produce proof of continuous residence in the State/UT for a specified minimum period, or that of holding land in the State/UT, depending on the rules in the State/UT concerned. Documents for proving your identity, attestation of the form by officers with the necessary authority, school certificates and the Tehsil Enquiry Report may also be required.
Women not originally belonging to a State/UT, but married to men who are permanent residents of the State/UT or who are eligible for the State's/UT's Domicile Certificate, are eligible to apply for Domicile Certificate.
Note:
Domicile Certificate can be made only in one State/UT. Obtaining Domicile Certificate from more than one State/UT is an offence.
hI Arlette Deori,
You can get a copy of MTNL /Electicity bill date back 3 years on submission of some required fee by the concerned department.
even child birth certificate issued from Delhi will itself be a proof of 3 years stay depends on how you convince the verifying staff.
Hello Maharam,
As I have been living in a rented plc in Delhi.. Above said docs are not available with me. Probably, I have to go for Domicile Cert then..
then you will need to get it from SDM/Tehsildar of the area concerned. typists sittings there will better guide you.
Is there any particular Format for the same..
yes, the concerned office will provide necessary information regarding issue of domicile certificates.
Thank you so much .. Its was really helpfull & it was nice talking to you.
