Nursery admissions to start from Jan 1

The nursery admissions for the academic session 2016-2017 will start from 1 January, with the application forms available from the day and the last date of submission of forms will be 22 January. 

All private unaided recognized schools admitting children in pre-school, pre-primary and Class-I level shall reserve 2.5% seats for Economically Weaker Section (EWS)/DG category students under the provisions of RTE Act, 2009 at Entry Level Classes, in case of fresh admissions. 

The circular notifies that all Private Unaided Recognized Schools shall develop and adopt criteria for admission which shall be clear, well defined, equitable, non-discriminatory, unambiguous and transparent. 

The admissions and draw of lots, if any, shall be conducted in a transparent manner preferably in the presence of parents. 

However, all the private unaided recognized schools are required to upload their criteria for admission of Open Seats at Entry Level Classes other than EWS/DG category seats for the academic session 2016- 17 on the Directorate's website www.edudel.nic.in by 20.12.2015. 

The schools shall also have to publicise their admission criteria on their website, if available, also well in advance before the start of admission process for public view. Further, the schools shall display the admission criteria along with the points for each criterion and total number of seats available at Entry Level Classes on a Flex Board, prominently, at the entrance of the school and shall upload the compliance of the same in the form of photographs on the Directorate's website. 

As per the circular, buying of prospectus of •school along with application forms is not mandatory for parents and schools can neither force parents to buy prospectus or charge any processing fee. 

Only Rs 25, non-refundable, can be charged as admission registration fee from parents. 

"The Private Unaided Recognized Schools shall not process the admission of EWS/DG category students manually. The department is in the process of developing a module for online admission of EWS/DG Category," said Padmini Singla, Director, Education. 

As per the circular some of the indicative documents which can be considered as proof of residence of parent or child could be Ration card issued in the name of parents, Mother/Father having name of child), Domicile certificate of child or of parents, Voter I-Card of any of the parents, Electricity bill, telephone bill, Water bill, Passport in the name of any of the parents or child, Aadhaar card UID card issued in the name of any of the parents. 

However, nursery admission activists request parents to complete all documents required before hand. 

"Some schools check immunization card very carefully, all the vaccines put should be duly signed by the doctor on the immunization card and few medical certificates from the doctor stating that the child is not suffering from infectious disease," said Sumit Vohra of admissionnursery.com.

Some students r Feb nd March born...they r too small for d formal education.. My daughter is going to be 3 yrs but she is still not physically nt mentally ready for pre school.. Govt have to give an option for parents of Feb nd March so that they can able to take admission next year..
