Nursery/kg/1st |COMMON ADMISSION THREAD FOR SCHOOLS DECLARING ADMISSIONS OPEN FOR DELHI SCHOOLS FOR YEAR 2012-2013

Parents are requested to not put generic queries but contribute with admission details if they are aware of any school. This would help parent community only and not break the continuity.

AS WE ARE DOING THIS FROM LAST 3-4 YRS WE WOULD BE FOLLOWING THE MAIN TREND, THE ADMISSIONS INFORMATION WOULD ALSO BE AVAILABLE ON THE DELHI ADMISSION OPEN GROUP ALSO, AS SOME TIMES PARENTS ARE NOT ABLE TO LOCATE THIS THREAD

THE LINK FOR ADMISSIONS OPEN IN DELHI 2012-2013 GROUP IS GIVEN BELOW

Good Mathematics Vijay.........

U seem to have booked a seat ....that's why u look so cool

Na. No seat.. no call from anywhere but I hope things only get better from here. Visibility will be more once dust settles down. Alls sibling, alumni, girls child cases are once settled down, will leave few seats in some moderate school for guys like us with no sibling, no alumni, boy child folks. :)
The focus, in any case was never top shot schools. Hope, yes was there and will be there :)

@ Vijay Kumar
I liked your approach. Hope you have saved your pocket too by avoiding the top shot schools.

yes, the top shot schools are for top shot people or EWS/ Politically connected people.

for middle class the focus is always moderate school with good education, low on expenses.

Shri Ashok Agarwal our advocate who is fighting for parents in high Court once pointed in a Ganguly report that the neighbourhood school concept has really set in motion a trend towards more equitable educational opportunities. He cited the example of parents putting their children in neighbourhood schools instead of sending them to far-off schools that have so far been considered to be ‘quality private schools’. This trend is healthy because even the newly-established and not so ‘famous’ schools are also getting talented children. In course of time most of the schools will attain comparable quality standards if this trend continues.
Shri Agarwal contended that the primary focus should be on the child and any criteria that are based on parents or other extraneous factors would be considered arbitrary. As for the applicability of the recommendations to minority institutions, Shri Agarwal argued that while minority institutions have been given the right (under Article 30 (1) of the Constitution, the Courts have also indicated that this does not include the right to mal administer. The State has a right to intervene or monitor such matters. Minority schools would retain their right to admission as per their own norms in respect of minority children but for admissions of other students the common procedure should be applied. But admission of children in the latter category should be on the basis of the recommendations of the Committee.

@Lathaa ji

The neighbor hood concept is good in terms of cost as well as convinience of kids. But thr should be uniform norms for neighborhood. I find some schools take 1 KM while others take 8-10 KM as heighborhood.

And if we take the case of Rohini, all newly established schools are Star Schools(Like Hotels). They are beyond reach of a middle class person, with fees ranging from 4000 to 10000 per month. having air conditioned classrooms & transport, luxurious receptions,

And if we take the case of many old but not famous schools they are same for years without much improvement in thr education standards, some have however improved in infrastructure.

@Lathaa, I did not avoid top shot schools in neighborhood. I did apply there just in rare case the luck shines in draw, but otherwise with not much expectation.

I did avoid top shot schools outside 10 km as it does not make sense to send a child to that place that too in congested place like Delhi.

I concur with neighborhood criteria. This should result in availability of good students in neighborhood schools.
I would be happy with some moderate school in neighborhood. The point to see is if there is so much crunch in those schools also?!

Yes RDPS Balvatika was very much interested in selling forms only. They said admission will be on interaction basis only but it seems that as they have earned money by selling forms now they are shortlisting richi rich kids :).

Hi There
That's what I have been wondering watching all these ppl getting calls from schools. No calls from anybody as yet ! I have been keeping my mobile phone next to me in anticipitation, still hopeful some school can show some pity on us "general" class and offer a seat without loads of money :-((

Thanks for all the efforts
Amit Arora
