Dear Ma'am

could you please explain me the rational for the selected candidates for DAV pushpanjli which has 165 names and draw of lottery lists which is to be held on 27.01.12.
my daughters name is not in selected candidates but in draw of lottery list- pls guide as teh school authorities do not want to give clear cut replies.

DAV Pushpanjali cutoff is 55 for girls & 50 for boys. The selected list shows the name of confirmed admissions in this range.

Lottery list shows the name of candidates who are tie for the next level & shall be selected thru lottery. This is as told by the lady sitting at school reception today.

If the wards name is in the 1st list published by the school, does that guarentee the admission. My sons name is in the 1st list of DPS Mathura Road. I though that the admission was confirmed. We are asked to come today for documents verification but after the principal asked me about my job, he said that i will be placed in the draw of lots. My son has 40 points and apparently as per the principal they are around 200 Kids with 40 points. My doubt is if i was to be part of the draw of lots, why was i called for verficaiton and why were the remaining 200 kids parents NOT called for verification. They will be taking a total of 120 kids in GC and the first list has around 151. The fact that DPS Mathura road did not have the points mentioned in the list makes everything a bit fishy.

So there is a tie with 40 points. CAlling for verification of document is a normal procedure and since many kids are there with 40 points a draw is neccessary. But why did principal ask for your job details is questionable?

Thanks Lathaa. The only thing i cant understand is if there is a tie, why were only some candidates called for verification. They had putblished a 1st list of 151 candidates out of which there must have been around 200 people with 40 points. They obviously havent called all 200 people for verification. They should have come out with the points in the first list itself.

There would have been different time slot. See the website it must have been updated.

Not really. They had a list of 151 candidates and have called them for verification. This 151 does not include the other 200 that have 40 points also. Most of the parents there had points ranging between 45-70. Am planning to go to the principlal tomorrow and see if there is any clarity.
