and the EWS as well Anand.....in delhi it has become a negative point in School admissions if you earn decently to feed your family.....either one has yo be filthy rich or just hand to mouth to get a good school for one's child....

Most of the ppl who apply under EWS are self employed and they earn more than 1 lakh but since they dont file IT Returns so they get a EWS certificate made by paying 2-3000 rupees at SDM's office... If their kids gets selected in lottery in any top-notch school then their education is free for life ;)

Zaheer: Unfortunately, this would be the case in more than 50% of all admissions under EWS. I suppose one can actually make out easily from the address specified in the forms. The real question is - what is happening to the Govt schools, now that more than 50% of their candidates are getting free ships in private schools. Can we at least do away with the Education cess in our Tax returns?

so we are the fools who are paying taxes on our hard earned money and then running after the so called good schools for education of our children @ decent fees..not free...but either we should be able to pay lacs of rupees as donation or be able to afford Rs 25000 Per month(for two kids) as fees and other expenses extra... or we should be satisfied with whatever schools we have however ....

agreed. The percentage should should be kept around 10% . 25% is too much.
Instead of trying for reservation , govt should improve the government school and encourage them to study there. If govt lacks fund for infrastructure development and to pay salary to teachers, they should invite private parties.

It is serious time for Government otherwise it would crash the society.
