I do not agree with you Puneet.. The draw of lots was a fair process. In fact the school authorities had waited for 15-20 minutes and started the draw of lots with a delay of 15-20 minutes from the scheduled time. We were part of the draw and had reached in time. I agree that the fact that we have to reach the school was not mentioned at the website, but in that case my first question to you is that what prompted you to reach at 4 PM. You could have made it at 3.30 PM instead of reaching late.

Please don't misguide AN.Com and other parents as the draw was conducted in front of almost 400 people and was properly convened. As parents we were asked to sign a pre-written slip and fold it and drop it in the ballet box. Once the same was done, it was mingled properly with other slips and subsequently around 10 parents and other staff members were asked to pick up slips at random (the entire process was being videographed). In the meanwhile some parents who had got as late as 4.15 PM (instead of the scheduled time of 3.30 PM) were let in and we were asked whether these people should be considered for the draw, to which we agreed, although we were waiting for the last 60-90 minutes. I believe the process was quite fair and there were no inconsistencies, it is just that a few people who got late are trying to cover up their lackadaisical attitude by blaming the school.

For instance, even Banyan Tree had mentioned on their website that there would be a draw at 3 PM today, accordingly diligent parents would have called up and confirmed whether we need to be present or not. When we called up Banyan Tree this morning, we got to know that the entire process has been scrapped and the list would be directly displayed on 1st Feb, hence there was no need to visit Banyan Tree School.

Likewise those who had even the slightest of doubt about going to Indian School or not could have called up and confirmed whether the attendance of parents is required or not. Instead of blaming the school for their attitude and threatening them on such a forum for dire consequences one should keep his/her house in order and be diligent. My intention here is not to blame or pin point anyone but to correct people who are misleading others on such a vast forum.

Hey hey Shweta ..holdon...its fairly straight... If they have mentioned on the website that we required to be present on the date of draw..what do you think...all of us are fool or something for not being there. There is not the question of being there on time or late. The question is ..its not mentioned that that presence of parents is mendatory...your whole speech is mere an act of selfishness... the fairness would be to draw the 85 candidates out of all 400 hundred candidates...such acts of school would only cultivate the crop of cheats in the new generation.....

Even my wife called Indian school many times in last days..there only reply was to refer the website...And website never mentions the presence requirements....

Sandeep, you might find it selfish, but the fact is that people who came in at 4 PM could have reached at 3.30 PM. People waiting in the queue since 3 PM are not fools either.. Tell me one thing, how come people claiming on this forum to have reached at 4 PM and not being allowed entry had in their dreams thought of going to the school.

When one does not even know whether the presence is required or not, he would not at all go and if he has reached he would reach in time. I hope you agree with me on this. I do agree that the school was not specific in asking all interested parents to reach the school premises at the time of draw but a ray of hope to have your ward admitted in the school would atleast give you an inkling to speak to the school administration and confirm whether the presence is required or not. Yet if the school did not answer the calls properly (which I understand since they must have been inundated with calls) one should out of curiosity reach the school and that too on time. What is the point in reaching late by 40-45 mins and then blaming the school.

Even we have applied to as many as over 40 schools in South Delhi and are awaiting our turn. We have been checking all websites regularly and wherever in doubt are clarifying by giving a call and have always got satisfactory (though slightly rude) answers from all schools.

Trust this clarifies my stance..

@ Shweta.....Again a reply full of selfishness.....on a weekday, none of the person in a responsible work profile have time to take a leave and stand in lines of 40 schools if its not mandatory.What Indian school did is really a act of pure cheating...and if you are supporting that cause... I am not sure what moral values you will pass on to your next generations........

your all favor to school really gives us a doubt of foul play

I wonder if the presence is required for lottery why there is a need to submit form beforehand. The forms can be submitted right at the time of draw.

Secondly, if all schools make it mandatory for parents to be present for lottery, what would be the situation of parents who have applied in 30-40 schools.

And even more if timing of two or more schools match then what they do ???

Parents in Admissionsnursery.com have all rights to put forward their thoughts and views, any discomfort, any complaints, share their joy and sorrow. If anything is out of order Mr. Sumit Vohra the founder of AN.com is there to lead the parent community.
If video recording has been done it's well and good throught RTI parents will seek those information. So remain cool.
