Thanks Sumit sir & Sakshi maa'm.
Thank you.

Hi Abhishek,

Pls note that the Preparatory school (Nursery & KG) at Somerville campuses (Noida & Gr. Noida) is in the same building as the main school (classI to ClassXII). Its just the manner of specifying their pre-school education (Nursery & KG) for better focus.

Thanks Brij.

Thanks Lathaa maa'm to share this..

If these schools do not increase overall seats to equal the numbers that of last session (2011-12) it may result less number of seats to general category this year.

After quota for Noida kids, schools in a bind
Neha Pushkarna and Dwaipayan Ghosh, TNN Sep 2, 2010, 12.04am IST
NOIDA/NEW DELHI: The sudden decision by the NOIDA authority to reserve 65% of seats for residents of Gautambudh Nagar and another 10% for wards of the landless peasants from its rural fringes in the schools, which are going to be constructed henceforth in the city has left many from both sides of the state border questioning the utility of the entire exercise.

CEO of the NOIDA authority, Mohinder Singh, has claimed that various social studies carried out by sociologists of the area showed that those left out from the urbanization process should be brought into the mainstream by providing them the fruits ofdevelopment. According to officials, the decision was taken after finding that "a large section of the landless who gave up land had not been made a part of modern-day Noida.''

The local political observers, however, felt it was CM Mayawati's gameplan to checkmate the opposition's claims that she was not sympathetic to the demands of the farmers. "There is no doubt that the recent round of agitation in western and central UP has upset the BSP's plans. They are now trying to pacify the farmers in every possible manner.'' They say the demand for the reservation has been a long-standing one from the farmers' lobby.

However, those directly affected remained a divided lot. Many east Delhi students flock to Noida in search of popular schools as they claim there are hardly any reputed schools in their own neighbourhood.

Kamal Pratap, a resident of Patparganj, whose son will be eligible for nursery admission next year, said, "Thank God, the new direction is only for new schools. Most of the branded schools are located in Noida. As there are not many options in east Delhi, going to Noida has been the best bet for parents here. The competition for a nursery seat in Delhi is anyway tough. So applying in Noida helps. ''

Though schools are not sure if reserving seats will prove to be a healthy decision, they felt filling them up with local students should not be a problem. Ashok Chandra, chairperson, DPS Society, said, "Noida is a highly populated area. I don't think there will be a problem in filling up 65% of the seats with local students.'' The society, however, is not immediately planning any new school in the area. He added, "But the issue of reservation can always be debated.''

Sheetal Sharma, secretary, DAV Management Committee, added, "With this, the concept of neighbourhood schools may get strengthened.''
Any news on Step by Step Noida Nursery admissions??

( This question was asked by APJ school last year..)

If your elder child is going to somerville school and why you want to send yonger one in APJ or DPS???

we want our children to expland their knowledge and experience thr' sharing both cultures and environments instead of limiting it to one. To adopt what is best and take thr decisions under our guidence. :)..emphasis that u blv in broad spectrum or views.
