Does that mean there may be some more changes? Its already 11 Jan today n forms will be out by 15 January.. I think every parent who was fitting into 8 km 70 points must be hopeful that his child will may fit into draw.. We r just thinking about the calculation of thresholds of points the school will get.. See if it goes that sibling point and distance is considered, some applicants will get 90 points and with Alumni there will be 95 points..that means those applicants will get admissions easily.. Now if the girl child norm too prevails that means 5 points more..and if the girl applicant has no sibling or even not an alumni then in that case 75 points will be alloted.. Now 70 points are for the boys within 8 km.. my question is considering only few seats are in every school, where will d boy applicant go? then wt is d point of having a co-ed school? better convert all schools into girls schools? wont d schools be bothered over such disequilibrium in the sex ratio of the class..

totaly agreed...:(

as per my knowledge .. girls are given 5% quota reserved for them in co-ed school..there are no points for girl child in 100 point system...

70 for proximity (upto 8 kms)

20 for sibling

05 for alumni

05 for transfer cases

@ Rakesh: Please check the details in newspaper articles.. It is mentioned that 5 points for alumni and girl will be added by default..

Ashu

no points for girl child

only 5 % quota as per draw of lots after that equal for all

first 5 girls would be selected if seats are 100  hypothetically

Sakshi Ma'am I am quoting the lines from one of the article over the girl applicant issue.. This clause has actually given my husband and me nightmares..

"Besides these, the applicants who have sibling studying in the same school will get 20 points and five points will be added by default in the application of girls and wards of school alumni".

This is being quoted from the following link:

dear ashu, I checked the link, yes it is creating some confusion..but for me there is no confusion as we should not believe the articles being published .. rather only trust the guidelines/circulars being issued by DOE /Delhi Govt.....(already shared by AN.com or u can also check the same on the website of DOE)

Rakesh is 100% right please check the does guidelines

This is must and required that every school must disclose the Colonies falling with there 8 km and they must also Disclose that what criteria they are using to define the distance

There are points for siblings. What about first born or single children

Exactly Alka Ma'am.. i appreciate that Delhi's government considers sibling points for the parents.. But what abt us with d first born boy? Why is it Delhi people have to suffer? All over India the old system  of admission is prevailing.. I think Delhi people will start determining the sex before a child's birth considering the apprehension of having a boy.. Atleast a girl's admission is secured in Delhi with current proposed system.. Also just imagine those parents who got admission for their kids through management quota (provided they fall into 8 km), they will anyways have 90 points for d second kid...What about d first timers? Mr Sumit Vohra, I want you to pls address this issue too..

ASHU
