Hi Sri - as a parent, am wondering what is the right age and stage for considering a preschool or playschool. My kid is just about 2.5 but she does not really speak or give out proper signals for things like having done it in the diaper. Is it absolutely necessary to put the kid in a play or preschool or can we think about directly entering the Nursery?

Hello Anubav,
If u ask me, as a parent there's no any specific age to send the kid to playschool. Play school is just for the kids to get socialised with other kids and its a kind of exposing the kids to new environment when they enter the Nursery. Even my daugher (who's March born) is yet to speak up completely and still cant give her cues regarding her needs, I planned to send her to play school. Also, playschool will help them communciate better(my son started speaking up properly after he went to play school). This is just my point of view. Other parents can give their views on the same.

Helps a lot when you hear it from another parent - the best thing about this forum.

I guess, we too should pursue it - will never know how much a playschool can help or not unless the kid is in the actual environment.
