Nursery Admissions in Delhi NCR 2024-25

Please clear the confusion regarding judgement by judiciary on 8th March and 19th March..

Dear All,

I am really confused and really doubt the term Honorable and feel disgusted with what is happening. Just short of knowledge on few things:

1) Story of 8th March: Crux - The Delhi High Court has rejected the plea to quash the points allotted to alumni and siblings in the nursery admission process and issued notice to the city government on the same, a move which has coming as a disappointment to many parents.

2) Story of 19th March: Crux - NEW DELHI: A fresh petition seeking scrapping of the alumni and sibling criteria in nursery admissions was heard by the Delhi high court on Tuesday. "Renotify the petition for hearing with the pending petition on March 24," a bench comprising acting Chief Justice B D Ahmed and Justice Siddharth Mridul said.

What I am trying to understand is how can same thing be challenged again and again? Also trying to understand the term HONORABLE.

One more confusion: Parents who are master of Constitution and have been reading it daily morning since birth. Can you please answer the question that we are democratic country and what are the details of this aspect. I am a less educated parent and I feel 99.99% parents can file PILs against these educated bunch of super intellectual parents and Government. I think your fight is till your child gets admission in a school.

Please file PILs against distance criteria now... Suggest if you calculate the distance accurately - 525 mtrs (eg) and fight for that criteria. You never know your child may not still get admission. (I really want everyone to get admission but helpless with the attitude of parents)

Pls share your views...

First it was in single bench, if you are not satisfied you can go to Double bench ( Two Judges) in Hon' HC .So yesterday it was double bench.

so if this bench decides to do away with sibling points? what should be our move? we can file a PIL too? Sakshi pls advice

we want sibling points to stay. cant be running between schools it will be maddening

Agree with you. Sibling points should be there. It will be difficult for parents like us to send childrens in two different school. We have not applied in much school as we were sure of getting admission due to sibling point. Where were these people earlier who are filing PIL now against sibling and alumni. If anything happens wrong, then we all should unite and fight against this.

Sorry for asking silly questions but how many benches more.. I mean what after double.. Will it be then Single bench Supreme Court and then Double Bench Supreme Court...

Can after Supreme Court order, the same can be challenged once again.. I am really clueless about judiciary process and all this year admission process will teach me is how the system works and how incompetent people are managing this show..

Shruti
Exact details any lawyer parent can tell but as per my knowledge SC has the final say.

Thanks Sakshi.. The reason for posting the question was not to get an answer but to actually feel pity about the system.

"Tareekh pe Tareekh"

Trust me, I seriously doubt if this can get over by this year end. The way judiciary has shown its maturity, I seriously doubt. Everyone has a reason to file PILs now and parents are fooled by the system and the lawyers. So finally donations are going to these lawyers this year. :)

Just for knowledge the H'on High Court & H,on Supreme Court hearings can begin from a single benches & can go on til the FULL BENCH.

The point is in today scenario you cannot satisfy one & all, so does that mean an endless situation where every set of aggrieved parents can file a P.I.L.

WELL GOD SAVE THIS COUNTRY

Thanks Mr Sanjiv.. What is the number in full bench? At this moment it is 2.. So it can go till what extent.. And then how many benches does SC has.

Ms Shruti a full bench is either 9 or 11 Judges bench

WOW... That will be close to 22 months everything moves the way it is at this point of time..

Siblings points cannot be and should not be quashed... I think this will even be favoured by parents trying for admission of first child....Just want final decision on 24th...whatever it may be.....
