I fully support rahul comments...play schools also has burden on children ..competition...learning, i think age remains 3+...parents who want to send children at 4+ has option to send their kids next year to schools...3+ age doesn't mean you have to send at 3+ only...u can get your child admitted at 4+ also next year...there is no compulsion...but why to make 4+ as it creates problem for all parents who want their kids to start schooling at 3+...good for all of us...
thanks monika...:) yeah you are totally right those who want to send their kid to school on turning 4+ let them do that but just for thier sake age eligibilty cant be 4+ as on 31st march...
Yah one more thing, When criteria stipulates Distance as one of the major criterias then education minister should ensure first that there are equally good schools in all the area. Can education Minister cite some few good schools comparable to Modern, DPS etc. even in his own constituency from where he gets elected.
If distance is important criteria as it is 2day, then kids staying in IP extension, Mayur Vihar, Preet Vihar etc. can never be admitted to Modern, DPS etc.
I strongly feel that the age should be 4+. I fel the child is too young at 3 and should not be burdened with the regular schoolwork. They still have lot to learn without going to formal school. I sometimes feel that this pressure we put on the young minds when they are not yet ready is not healthy and may even lead to the child developing an aversion to the word SCHOOL. I would want my child's school experience to be a happy one. And if that means waiting for a few more months or even a year before starting formal school...it would be worth if for me.
Yes the distance criteria should not be there.Everone can not live near good schools only.............
Parents themselves decide school as per their comfort so let not the schools rate on this criteria...........
it shd be 4 yrs,

thnx

pratibha
age criteria should be 3.5+ or 4+ .... think about the children who just turned 3 ... there is a hell lot of burden on kids these days ... when we were in nursery or kg ... hum itni padhai nahi kar rahe the jitni aaj bache kar rahe hain ... my son is 3 n half now ... lemme tell u about his course ... 1-100 counting and writing , hindi varnmala , capital n small alphabets , what comes after .... isn't this a burden on a 3 year old child
It should be 4+ . Some of you have stated that there is no compulsion in age for admission . for your kind information some schools have defined age limitation for example 3-4 for nursery admission at this date and. that the child can not be more than 4(upper limit) for the admission. thats why this whole discussion is being carried out...
i strongly agree with ina bhatia .4+ is best.look at the syllabus for young shoulders to carry. oh my god!!!!!!!
it has to be 3+ as for nursury .,because now a days child start understanding early, compare to early years.
My daughter will be just 3 year and 1 month at the time of admission (March). whether she will eligible or not for admission.
please help and obliged.
i think 4+ is the best age for nursery. 3+yrs is so small. What can we expect the kid to do when he/she is 3yrs. My kid will be 3yr and 3months oldin march. what can i expect her to do in nursery?? So i strongly feel 4+ is the right age.
