yeah i have gone through it..3 of my family members are teachers in reputed schools..all are suprised to know your facts...so first go after the playschools to increase the age rather than schools...
what i think is the age criteria minimum of 4 years for any type of education, let the little ones to be free before that, donut pressure kid so early, these kids r not mine or not urs, its the future of india so by give them freedom in democratic country at-lest up-to 4 yrs.let them play and they can learn a lot even before 4 from parents and their surroundings without going to any schools.
mr rahul why r u taking it personally ... i'm just telling my views .... tht the age should be 3.5+ or 4+... thanx bye bye
The best idea is to take views of those parents who have already admiitted their kids in school las t yr as they are the only one who can tell us everything about the present scenario abt schools
I agree with Ms. Vibha Sharma

I believe that whatever the criteria is, ther would always be some kids who will be benifitted more from it as compared to ohers, as has been rightly ponited out by Roohi. Given the fact that that no two kinds are same in terms of intelligence, we need to have such a criteria for addmission which should be based on the actual capabilities of the child and not just the age limit. So the present scenario of age criteria between 3 to 4 years as on April 1st coupled with the personal meeting and evaluation of the child seems to be sufficient enough

Many of us as parents may feel that it is a burden on the child of 3 yrs and say 1 month age as on April 1st to commence the regular schooling or even to clear the interview for getting selected but what we need to appreciate here that any criteria is fixed in consideration of the general factors only and therefore no criteria can be sufficient to cover each and every case. So there will always be some one beniffiting from the system more than the others

What best a change in the existing system be suggested is that the schools while taking the personal interview of the child for evaluation, must keep in mind the difference in the age of any two childs being interviewd meaning thereby that the standard of evaluation shaould be flexible enough to be reasonable for every child

Moreover we as parents can always reduce the burden of their own aspirations from the child in the intial years when he is too yuong to match performance with those who are 7-8 months older than him. Remember the beautiful message of the movie "3 idiots" - Study to be competent and not to compete - Success will automatuically follw you.
My son is 3 years 2 months now and already short-listed in 3 schools. But what I observed while interview process is that he was under tremendous pressure at that time. He had lots of pressure in his play school as well as in home also. He was so irritated at that point of time which he behaves now very normal. So this was not his mistake, it’s our system's mistake, it’s basically our mistake. As soon as a child started going to play school, he needs to prepare for his competition examination. Different schools have their own pattern for interviewing kids & their parents. CBSE did lots on reducing pressure from students but what I feel is that at this very early moment of our soft mind skill child should be given some more time to be mature and then start taking pressure gradually.

I personally feel that age criteria for every child should be 4+ years but every child must go any of their nearby play school for at least 1 year before applying to any school and all school should follow the same pattern of interviewing whatever recommended by CBSE or any government agency.
it should be 4 years so that the child is not under pressure
It should be 4+ but at the same time all across the country.
admission should be after 4. so children enjoy childhood .ultimately whole life after this will be in book.this period will not come back again
it is very true that the age for going for nursery class should be 3.5+ as its very difficult for a 3years old child to go for a regular schooling. also its not good for such a small child to pressurise for going to school when the child is still in learning phase of speaking and learning. pressurising them to write and live away from family at that stage may lead to wrong conceptions in their mindsets.... however i agree with a parent's view that if the 4+ creteria is implemented the eligibility date will be 4+ as on 30th sep since if its as on 31st march almost every school will have a empty nusery session...
The age criteria shud definately b 4plus. It wud b blessing in disguise for d kids as well as d parents. Bcoz at 3 yrs a child is nt toilet trained and her / his communication skills r nt devloped. My daughter fr instance started talking in full sentences wen she turned 2.3 yrs,hw do u expect d child to cope up though she is very sharp. At such a tender age d child clings to his mother all d time though d child goes to a preschool, so hw wud d child commute in d school buses on his own wthout d mother. It wud definatwely b very difficult fr the teachers as well to tackle kids of 3 yrs. So im sincerely requesting d education deptt , dgovt to make d age criteria 4 plus for d welfare of d kids who r d bright future of our nation.Though d kids r inteligent these these bt dat doesnt mean that thy shud b put into school at d age of one or two yrs. cz d commubnication skills ,their growth takes place d same way as our used 2. Requesting u mr.vohra to pls continue fiting f r d injustice whch is taken place regarding d agr criteria. thanx.
i think it should be in between... that is 3 yrs and 6months complete. below that is still a little young but if we have to wait till 4 then some children will be nearly 5 by then....
