Sumit Ji, Although i haven't applied in this school but looking at the replies of the parents here i can very well presume that there wouldn't have been a draw of lots conducted by the school management in this case. I think this is a golden opportunity for you to take this case forward by filling an RTI, the reason i m thinking on this ground is you have a written reply which is a substantial evidence that the management have conducted a draw of lots & in case they really have, they should be having some communications to parents about the same /video recording/attendance record of the parents who have attended the same. I think if they have it then its fine (chances are that they don't have any such record) & if they don't, then you have a point to prove. All the Best.
What is Right to Information? Where to file RTI application? Right to Information Act 2005, which became effective in October 2005, empowers every citizen to
q Ask any questions from the Government or seek any information
q Take copies of any government documents
q Inspect any government documents.
If the desired information is not provided within 30 days of application, the concerned officer becomes liable for a penalty of Rs 250 per day of default upto a maximum of Rs 25,000 per application. And if wrong information is provided, a penalty upto a maximum of Rs 25,000 can be imposed on the officer.
Where to file RTI application?
Every Government department has nominated one of its officers as a Public Information Officer (PIO). You should file your application with him/her. You have to deposit an application fee along with your application. In the case of Central Government Departments, the application fee is Rs 10. It is the same for many State Governments also. But many State Governments have fixed different fee. The fees fixed by different states are given in annexure. There is no fee for the people living below poverty line.
You could submit the application through following methods:
q In person or by sending someone to the office of the PIO. You could deposit the fee in cash or by DD drawn in favor of the Department.
q By post. You could deposit the fee in by DD drawn in favor of the Department.
q In Post Offices. Several branches of Post Offices have been authorized to receive RTI applications. The list of these branches are available at the website ______. You just need to present your RTI application at any of these post offices. They will accept your fee in cash and give you a receipt of the money and the application. They will then deliver it to the concerned PIO at their own cost. If you deposit your application through a post office, the period for providing information increases to 35 days.

Few more points can be added in RTI apart from Sakshi Mam mentioned here
)Ask them to indicate the daily progress of your application , when it reached them and what did they do during the period.
2) Names and designation of the school authorities who have taken action on your application
3) School should be deregcognized for flouting admission norms if proved.
SMT. VIMLESH KUMARI, E.O Zone- 018(West -B), 28546090 has always delayed the RTI information regarding this school and she is even fined. In one instance RTI filed regarding salary of a school teacher and in another instance RTI in appointment of a teacher and school fund. So this Madam has always gone hand in hand with school. Why can't DOE function efficiently ?

I'm sure this goes way beyond the draw of lots. Its about money. Most of the schools are run as pure business and purpose of making money. And that's what they are doing - making money. I'm sure some of the schools would have taken capitation fees as well.
Those who are behind it, there name should be highlighted in newspaper/media. Be it persons from DOE, be it ministers or any other who are playing with the future of India being new generation. Those who are not aware of what corruption is are suffering from it. Please save the future of our INDIA. How new generation will say that We are Proud to be Indian if later they will be known of it.
School authority is lier, I met many parents while I am going to see list who said they give huge amount of donation in order to secure seat for there child in this school. so looks like list is decided based on donation not points.
Dear All,
I will do the needful after consulting legal experts( as what could be the best way)....to unmask
the school so that it does not go scotfree (RTI is one of the options ) !!
